The globally successful talent show continuesits sixth British series in its new home on ITVthis week. The third series of high-octane hit US drama returnsafter a winter break this week on ITV2. Eccentricgenius Walter O’Brien (Elyes Gabel) and his team ofbrilliant misfits comprise the last line of defenceagainst the complex, high-tech threats of the modernage. O’Brien’s ‘Scorpion’ team includes Toby Curtis(Eddie Kaye Thomas), an expert behaviourist whocan read anyone, Happy Quinn (Jadyn Wong), amechanical prodigy, and Sylvester Dodd (AriStidham), a statistics guru. Pooling their extensivetechnological knowledge to solve mind-boggling predicaments amazes federal agent Cabe Gallo(Robert Patrick), who shares a harrowing history with O’Brien. However, while this socially awkwardgroup is comfortable with each other’s humour and quirks, life outside their circle confounds them,so they rely on Paige Dineen (Katharine McPhee), who has a young, gifted son named Ralph (RileyB Smith), to help them bridge the gap to the often-confusing real world. In the series so far, theteam have found themselves working to avert several nuclear crises, Walter has been accidentallylaunched into space, and Ralph’s friend has sparked a major search operation after beingkidnapped during a school trip. This week’s similarly action-packed episode, entitled This Is the Pits,sees Walter taking a perilous swim in a bid to rescue a woman trapped in LA’s La Brea tar pits.Meanwhile, Paige's mother Veronica (Lea Thompson) maximises Ralph's troop cookie sales.

Jill Douglas hosts the climax of 2017 Ladbrokes World Snooker Grand Prix at the iconic venue ofthe Guild Hall in Preston which reaches its final stages at the weekend. Joining Jill for the ITV4coverage are Stephen Hendry, Alan McManus and Neal Foulds, while Clive Everton and Phil Yatesare in the commentary box. The world’s top snooker stars have now battled through the earlyrounds and will hope to still be in contention for Sunday’s final. Although the event has a new venue

Another chance to see this three-part crime dramastarring Douglas Henshall and Martin Compston,based on real events. Peter Manuel (Compston),recently released from a nine-year prison term for aseries of sexual assaults, is determined to makeDetective William Muncie (Henshall, pictured) – theman responsible for his incarceration – pay theprice. After a further sexual attack on a youngwoman, Manuel elects to defend himself in courtand manages to secure a not-proven verdict. Soonafterwards, the body of another woman is foundbrutally murdered on a golf course.Even though not part of the investigation, Muncie issure he knows the culprit and goes to Manuel's home to try and reason with his father who gavehim the alibi he needed to be free from police suspicion. Gordon Ramsay returns to the UK’s most watched commercial channel

ITV today announced that world-renowned chef and global television star Gordon Ramsay is toreturn to the UK’s biggest commercial channel to front a primetime documentary series, a daytimecookery series and as a host on the network’s forthcoming late night entertainment series, TheNightly Show.The new programmes in the pipeline mark the superstar chef's return back to where he firstlaunched the globally successful and multi-award nominated Hell's Kitchen.Studio Ramsay will produce a new daytime cookery series for 2017. Due later in the year, CulinaryGenius (20 x 60) is an entirely original format mixing food with compelling gameshow and cookingelements. The high octane, large-scale competition will run for four weeks on ITV, and each episodewill see nine keen amateur cooks competing across a range of challenges in the hope of takinghome a cash prize, and the title of Culinary Genius. Featuring a different guest professional chefeach week, with Gordon Ramsay appearing in the first week of shows, the series will air in 2017,and the host will be confirmed in due course. Culinary Genius was commissioned by ITV’s Head ofDaytime, Helen Warner.Ramsay will also present a primetime hard hitting documentary series, which will begin filming thisyear, to be produced by Studio Ramsay. The documentary series has been commissioned by ITV’sHead of Factual Entertainment, Sue Murphy.Both the documentary series and Culinary Genius will be distributed by All3media International.Ramsay will first be back on ITV in 2017, as guest host for one week of The Nightly Show, ITV’sbrand new week-night entertainment series.The 30-minute daily entertainment show will air at 10pm and the series will be stripped over fivenights a week for an eight week run, featuring a different big name host each week. David Walliamswill be in the hot seat for the launch week with more high profile names alongside Ramsay andWalliams to be announced in the near future. Endeavour to return to ITV for fifth series with extended run of six films

ITV has announced that Mammoth Screen’s critically-acclaimed and popular detective dramaEndeavour has been recommissioned for a fifth series. The latest chapter of the Inspector Morseprequel series will be extended to run as six feature-length films for transmission in 2018.Charting the career of the young Endeavour Morse, the hit series has gone from strength tostrength since its first outing as a one-off film to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Inspector Morsein 2012. The new series, which will be set in 1968 and continue to be written by creator RussellLewis, will go into production this Spring.Shaun Evans (The Scandalous Lady W) is set to reprise his role as the young Morse, starringalongside acclaimed stage and screen actor Roger Allam (The Missing) as Endeavour’s seniorofficer, Detective Inspector Fred Thursday. Also returning will be series regulars Dakota BlueRichards (Skins) as WPC Shirley Trewlove, Anton Lesser (Game Of Thrones) as ChiefSuperintendent Reginald Bright and Abigail Thaw (I Want My Wife Back) as Dorothea Frazil.The announcement follows the successful launch of the fourth series earlier this month, whichreceived critical praise and impressive viewing figures despite strong competition on BBC1.
