Bulkers

Splosna Plovba doo have sold their Supramax “Trenta” 57/2010 Jiangsu Hantong, China (SS/DD 06/2020) to Indonesian buyers at a price of USD 6,8 mill. For comparison, the one-year-younger sister vessel “Amazonit” 57/2011 Jiangsu Hantong, China was sold for USD 7,3 mill. In addition, M/V “Endeavour Strait” 57/2010 Taizhou Sanfu, China (SS/DD 10/2020) was sold to US based buyers Safesea Transport at USD 7,1 mill. Jebsens Rederi have reportedly sold their two BWTS fitted Handysizes “Sharpnes” 35/2015 Tsuneishi Cebu, Philippines & “Swiftness” 35/2015 Tsuneishi Cebu, Philippines at USD 13 mill each basis SS/DD passed. Moreover, GENCO’s “Baltic Breeze” 34/2010 Spp, Korea (SS/DD 10/2020) & sister “Genco Bay” 34/2010 Spp, Korea (SS/DD due) were sold at USD 8,1 mill each while Commerce Maritime sold “Sam Panther” 33/2010 Orient, Korea (SS/DD 11/2020) at region USD 7 mill. After failing her sale in April at USD 7,25 mill to Greek buyers, Nagashiki Shipping have now committed their Open Hatch “Clipper Kamoshio” 32/2009 Kanda Kawajiri, Japan (DD 07/2020) to Vietnamese buyers at USD 7 mill.

Tankers

Greek buyers Thenamaris have acquired a Scrubber fitted VLCC resale from Sinokor Merchant Marine, the “DAEWOO 5473” 300/2020 Daewoo, Korea at USD 94 mill with delivery in the fourth quarter of 2020. This is one of the four vessels which were initially ordered from Sinokor in November 2019, while the other three were sold to Euronav in February for slightly less i.e USD 93,5 mill. Thenamaris has added the VLCC in the newbuilding section on their website under the name “Seavoice”. Mercator’s MR1 “Hansa Prem” 36/2001 Daedong, Korea (SS/DD 04/2021) was sold to undisclosed buyers for USD 6 mill. Remind you that “Baltic Commodore” 37/2003 Hyundai Mipo, Korea was sold in the end of February at levels USD 8,4 mill.

Capesize

Iron ore rates on the West Australia / China route continued throughout

Week 20 at the level of mid usd 3,00’s fio. A number of round trips on the

same route were reported around usd 2,000/3,000 pd levels. No period

activity to report here.

Kamsarmax / Panamax

North Pacific rounds ranged at the usd 5,000/6,000 pd. A number of

Indonesian trips into China were reported at around usd 5,000 pd levels. A

number of Australian trips into China were reported at around usd 6,000 pd

levels. West African trips into Continent with bauxite were fixed around usd

3,250 pd. Continental trips into China via Baltic were reported at the level of

usd 12,000 pd. Continental trips into South America with coal were fixed

around usd 2,500 pd. South American trips into Continent were reported

around usd 5,000/6,000 pd without any ballast bonus. South American trips

into China were fixed at the level of usd 11,000/12,000 pd plus ballast bonus

at the usd 110K/120K. Period fixture for a Kamsarmax at the usd 6,500 pd

for the first 50 days and usd 9,250 pd thereafter for 4/8 months employment

basis delivery in the Pacific.

Ultramax / Supramax

A number of Indonesian trips into China were reported at the level of usd

4,000/5,000 pd. A number of Indonesian trips into India were fixed around

usd 3,500/6,000. Indian iron ore trips into China were reported at the level

of usd 12,000 pd. South African trips into China were fixed around usd

10,250 pd plus ballast bonus at the usd 125K. South African trips into India

were reported at the level of usd 9,500 pd plus ballast bonus at the usd 95K.

Mediterranean trips into China via Black Sea were fixed around usd 13,000

pd. South American trips into Mediterranean were reported around usd

4,000/5,000 pd. South American trips into East Coast India with sugar were

fixed at the level of usd 10,000 pd plus ballast bonus at the usd 100K. No

period activity to report here.

Handymax / Handysize

A generally quiet week for this segment. South American trips into

Mediterranean were reported at the level of usd 5,750 pd. No period activity

to report here.
