Create in me a clean heart, oh God, and renew a right spirit within me. Psalm 51:10

Crystal growing was by far the most popular activity in the classroom this week. We have carefully mixed and measured chemicals and coloring, measured temperature, and checked for changes every day. Our blue crystals are growing rapidly! We are anxiously awaiting the growth of the pink and red.

Mrs. Laura Ann (Zahra’s mom) hosted chapel this week. We noted the many signs of Spring we are starting to see, and discussed how God can speak to us through these signs. Especially if we are sad or lonely, God makes his Presence known to us in many ways!

Our Olympics continued with our dodecahedron of exercise! Each side has a different activity, such as mountain climbers, running, jumping jacks, etc. Every child took a turn to roll and see which exercise the group would do next! Closing ceremonies are next week.

Our Atrium lesson on Wednesday continued the Lenten theme with the Gesture of Lavabo. We know this gesture not only serves a practical purpose to clean the Pastors hands before he administers the Eucharist, but is also symbolic of creating a clean mind and heart in Christ. The children loved taking turns holding the pitcher and bowl and pouring it over their friends’ hands.

We celebrated Whit’s 6th birthday on Thursday! After his birthday walk around the sun, we had cookies, looked at his picture albums, and heard Earley family anecdotes told by his dad.

Announcements:

We are starting seeds indoors in preparation of filling our planting boxes on the playground! We are in need of donations of bags of garden soil. I think if each family donated two bags of soil, we would have enough to fill all of our boxes. Bags are $3.98 at Lowes. Please help us as you can.

We are missing a large white button and brown rectangular prism from the classroom. Perhaps your child brought them home?
