The TV Trinity Broadcast channel has been changed. FCTV can now be seen on Charter channel 181 (this is a change from channel 8) and on Hickorytech channel 10. The days Trinity’s Broadcast will be shown remain the same—Monday &/or Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.

German Fest Fundraiser: A sincere thank you goes out to all who made this fundraising event a success. Ap-proximately $2,100 was raised; this money will be used to help fund the mission trip for Pastor Timothy Chase and 5 others from Grace Lutheran, Dodge Center. This team will travel to Kisumu, Kenya, in February of 2015. Many thanks to:

• All who attended the German Fest and for your gen-erous gifts and support.

• The students of Trinity, North Morristown, for their part in the program and for sharing their musical talents during the supper hour.

• Pastor Palm for his work in organizing the program of “Praise and Thanksgiving.”

• The Accordion Trio for providing us with some traditional German music and Val Braun for playing the organ and piano.

• Jen Becker and Thrivent Financial for providing funding to cover the expenses.

• All volunteers who helped with food preparation, serving, and clean up.

If you were unable to attend, but would like to support this mission team, donations can be sent to Grace Lu-theran Church, (Attention: Mission Trip), 404 Central, Ave. N, Dodge Center, MN 55927.

God bless, Friends of the former CVLHS

DECEMBER JOY GROUP:: Christmas Time’s A Comin’

Sunday, December 7, 2014

Meet in the church parking lot at 12:30 p.m.

We will carpool to Waseca Middle School. This is a Branson-style Christmas show for the entire family’s enjoyment. All proceeds go to the American Red Cross. After the show we will eat buffet at Pizza Ranch in Wa-seca on our own.

The J.O.Y. Group met on November 6 in the Fellowship Hall. We were served a very delicious Thanksgiving meal catered by Bryan Schuenke from the Signature. The room was beautifully decorated with lots of fall decorations of turkeys, pumpkins, and leaves. For dessert we had apple pie, baked by the Trinity Pie-makers, served with ice cream. We collected 66 items for the Food Shelf and $74.22 in cash. The school children came in the played handbells for us. They also demonstrated how they get different sounds with them. Harold Spitzack showed us pictures and told us about his mission trip to Germany. They were beautiful pictures and the talk was interesting.

Your sister in Christ, Loreen Schultz

ANGEL TREE: The Angel Tree is decorated and in the Narthex, but needs you to make it com-plete. Here is how it works—on the tree you will find angels. We invite you to take an angel from the tree, then document the ornament number, your name and phone number on the signup form located at the Information Cen-ter in the narthex. The angel ornament will

have information you need to purchase a gift. Please return the unwrapped gift (labeled with the angel number) to the Angel Tree on or before Sunday, Decem-ber 7. Once all the items are collected, we will wrap and distribute the gifts just in time for Christmas! We appreciate your help in bringing joy to someone less fortunate. If you have any questions, please contact Mike Young at 507-330-0326. The Bible Study group consisting of the Helblings, Handbergs, Blumes, Denningers, Nirvas, Beckers, and Youngs are thrilled to oversee this Angel Tree project.

Human Care will be hosting the first Advent Supper on December 3. They will be serving Baked Potatoes with various delicious toppings. A sign up sheet for donations of ingredients and helpers is available at the Information Center. Your help is very much appre-ciated!

The Trinity Quilters will again have gift items that they made. They will be available for you to purchase in the Fellowship Hall beginning December 7. The proceeds from the sale will be used to buy quilt batting.

An Open Forum to discuss Faribault Lutheran School Reports and FLS Recommendation—Monday, December 1, at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Informational ma-terials will be made available.

Advent Soup Supper dates open: December 10 and 17. If you or your group would like to sponsor a Soup Supper this Advent, please contact the church office, 331-6579.

Thanksgiving Services:

• Wednesday, November 26: 7:00 p.m.

• Thursday, November 27: 9:00 a.m. Please note: Holy Communion will be celebrated at all three Gospel services on November 29/30.

Help to feed hungry people! The Community Cathedral Café’s annual fundraiser, Café by Candlelight, is Saturday, November 29. It is an enjoyable and elegant way to support Faribault’s interfaith initiative to address local hunger while building community. Individual dinner tickets ($25) as well as raffle tickets for great prizes ($1 each) can be purchased by calling Kathy McFarlane (507-334-3985) by Nov. 23.

Bell Ringers are needed for Trinity’s Salva-tion Army volunteer day on December 6. Trinity members are again scheduled to con-duct the bell ringing at Faribault locations. Please sign up for a time slot in the Volunteer Book at the Information Center.

Audrey Helbling wrote a blog post last year about ringing bells for the Salvation Army. You can read her post at: http://mnprairieroots.com/2013/12/09/my-joyful-experience-ringing-bells-for-the-salvation-army-on-a-bitterly-cold-minnesota-day/. Medical supplies and equipment are available for Trin-ity members’ use. Recently donated items include a wheelchair, shower chair, walker, and cane. Call the church office or Norene Hansen for details.

Remember the needs of others during this time of year by giving to the Peace-Trinity Food Shelf. Items may be placed in the collection baskets by the narthex doors

and will be brought to Peace for distribution. Donations of money or Scrip are also appreciated to help in the pur-chase of perishable items. Checks can be made out to the Peace Food Shelf.

THRIVENT MEMBERS: Please remember to direct your Choice Dollars (see the December Newsletter for directions or call Ruth or Barb for help). Any Thrivent member can form an Action Team and receive $250 in seed money for materials, supplies, and publicity for a fundraiser, educational event or service project. (Again see the December Newsletter for informa-tion.) Two membership benefits are available through November. (Online, go to https://www.thrivent.com/membership-and-benefits/benefits/ and click on educa-tional resources or call 800-THRIVENT (800-847-4836) and say “Fraternal.”)

1. Caregivers can receive guidance and resources with the Independent Living membership benefit.

2. A free perpetual daily desk devotional can be ordered while supplies last.
