But godliness with contentment is great gain. For
we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain
we can carry nothing out, and having food and
clothing, with these we shall be content.

Halloween is coming up and I have some grandkids
excited about their costumes. One was already trying
hers on at my house last Sunday. Georgia is going to
be a pirate fairy this year. Exciting huh? Well, I took
my laptop home last weekend, right? No problem.
Then Monday morning, I’m setting up my laptop at
work and notice under my bright office lights that there
is a certain sheen, a twinkle if you will, on the cover of
my laptop. Puzzled, I examined it closely. Then after
further DNA testing, I have proven once and for all
that glittering pixie dust from the wings of 6 year old
pirate fairy really does exist. So naturally I rubbed it
off the plastic cover and sprinkled some of it on my
face and ran through the gym leaping in the air
screaming at the top of my lungs, “Gotta fly. Gotta
fly.” I quickly came to the conclusion that either that
shiny mess doesn’t work or there is a payload limit on
pixie dust. I was disappointed. Nevertheless, while
running and jumping (and sporting a sparkly face I
might add) the rest of the staff thought I was doing a
random obese Richard Simmons impersonation. Just
thought I’d let you know what goes on around here.
And by the way, if the fairy dust would have worked,
you have to believe that Nancy would be at this very
moment hovering around our church property pegging
those pesky squirrels with those old keys from her
huge key ring that haven’t opened a door in 46 years.
So why am I writing this? Simple... encouragement for
all of us. One day, we will all fly to our heavenly
home sporting our new clean white robes and Jesus
will let us in the gate, but Nancy will probably still be
holding the keys.
Still going,
Mike

Seasons of Life Seasons come and go. Sometimes it feels like a season will never end;
at other times it seems far too short. Everyone can agree that each
season is unique and beautiful in its own way, so too are the Seasons of
Life. Please join us as we hear from a group of ladies who are in the
midst of their own Season of Life. As they share their personal testimonies, we may laugh or shed a tear. Like winter, spring, summer
and fall, each Season of Life brings new opportunities and new
challenges. How do we adapt? Are we prepared? What can we
expect? Are the answers to the Seasons of Life such a mystery or are
they just a prayer away?
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased Sunday upstairs in the
adult hallway between services. For more information, contact Donna
Thomas, 704-214-3305 or Tammie Bradberry, 803-627-2858.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO... HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO... FEATURED HOMEBOUND:
From the Pastor’s Desk
We have been working for weeks preparing for our final Church Family Meeting of the year. One element of the
service will be the Installation and Ordination of Deacons. Caleb Wilson has been elected to the office of deacon and we will
ordain him this Sunday morning. I ask you to make every effort to be part of our worship event this week.
We will begin our day with fellowship around the tables at 8:45. Bring your favorite breakfast food to share. At 9:30
the Life Group/Sunday School classes will begin. And at 10:45 we will all gather to worship in the COAC.
Last Sunday we ended the Stewardship as Discipleship part of THE 52 PROJECT. I urged you to take the next step in
your giving. If you have never given to the Lord’s work, do that this Sunday. If you are an occasional giver, become a
regular giver. If you are not yet a tither, be obedient to God’s Word by bringing your tithe to God’s storehouse. Even delight
to become an extravagant giver. Some people have asked us to republish how to do online giving. To do that, go to our
website at www.fbcclover.com and click on the donations tab.
This Sunday we will begin the Mission of a Disciple part of THE 52 PROJECT. Let’s consider our mission to Bear
Fruit for God’s Kingdom.
