Did You Know?
Challenges are often issued against our Christian faith and our Church. As Catholic Christians in particular we find ourselves defending our beliefs in society. Our English word “apology” is from the Greek word for “defense” is apologia. It is not an admission of wrong as our modern English word suggests. An apology is a defense of a belief. Apologetics is the reasonable de-fense of the Christian faith. Jesus urged us to not only love God with all our heart, soul, strength, but also with all our mind (Lk 10:27) Reason backs up our faith but without knowledge, we do not have the armor to support our reasoning. Our role as Christians is to learn as much as we can about our God, our Church, and our Faith so we can defend them with grace.
Adult Education
Interested in RCIA for Adults or know someone who might be interested? Classes begin in the fall. Stop by the Parish Office to register. Feel free to direct any questions to Dr. Deb Wilhelm at [email protected]

Eclipse Solar Eclipses happen when the moon passes between the sun and the Earth, obscuring the entire sun. Oregon will experience 90% or higher of sun obscurity. Never look at the eclipse without approved eclipse glasses. Eclipses can cause partial blindness. Near the end of a total eclipse, one can see the sun’s corona. It is the outer atmosphere of the sun that spreads out to millions of miles from the sun’s surface. For more information, visit: nationaleclipse.com The Parish Office will still be open on Eclipse Day Monday Aug 21 8am-4pm
Satre St Reconstruction Roadway reconstruction will begin on Monday, August 21st for two weeks, through Friday, September 1st. Operations will be conducted 7am-7pm. Reconditioning and Repaving will make the roadbed damaging to both vehicles and the new surface so there is a city approved traffic control plan that will close Satre St during construction hours. Access in/out of driveways will be severely limited and street parking will be prohibited during this time. For your safety and the workers, and the speed and quality of the roadwork, we are asked that we proceed with caution through the work area and follow the posted traffic controls signs. If you have any questions, please contact the City of Eugene 541-682-5291 or Wildish Construction 541-485-1700. You can also see project information at Traffic Updates at http://www.keepusmoving.info Thank you in advance for your cooperation and consideration during this road work.
Scandi Fest A Success! Because of the few dedicated volunteers and committee people, St Paul’s Booth had the highest grossing year ever at the annual August Scandi-navian Festival. Many hands make light work so please pray how you can help lighten the load for all next year. Thank you very much to all the over-worked volunteers that helped make this year’s Festival a huge success!
