SPAG (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar)

Our focus this week is the use of ‘synonyms’. A synonym is when you have a word which means the same as the first and we use them to improve our language choices. Example – instead of saying big, we could use; giant, gigantic, enormous.

Art / D.T Self Portrait ArtOver the final few weeks of this academic year, we are going to learn about how to draw/sketch different parts of the face to then finally re-create a final self-portrait.

This week we are focussing on drawing a realistic eye. I want you to have a go at drawing an eye at a larger scale. This means that the eye takes up the entire page and not as small as you would regularly draw an eye. This is so we can look at the extra details to make the eye look realistic (look real).Watch the video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpZzbAeVxAEComplete the sheet attached.

Art:Portraiture - Eyes There are two things that you should carefully observe when starting your drawing of an eye:1 - The difference in shape between the upper and lower eyelids. (The Eye is not a rugby ball shape!)2 - How the upper eyelid covers the top of the iris. Look at the 3 pictures bellow and use them to help you draw a tonal picture of an eye in the box.
