AMeet Kristian "Taylor" Stork. She is our new x-ray-tech at the Westside clinic. She started on Sept. 1st. After speaking with Kristian you will soon realize she is a Southerner and definitely not from this area. She is fromas far south as you can get without getting into the Gulf of Mexico. Her husband joined the Air Force three years ago and is currently in the beginning of his first deployment. She has a two year old Boston Terrier named Jax and a 15 month old baby boy named Jensen Matthew. Jensen Matthew, or Baby J as they call him, absolutely LOVES cowboy boots and most of the time likes to sleep with them on. So needless to say, Kristian reports they have a few pairs for him and his obsession. He loves books, dancing to old school reggae music, and the park. Her “fur” baby and her son are her entire life. A few of her favorite hobbies are reading and playing the guitar. She says she has probably read about 4,000 books since she started the hobby when she was ten years old. She use to collect all of them until Hurricane Katrina flooded their house in 2005. Her biggest hobby however, is playing guitar! She has been playing for awhile and absolutely loves it. Every night before she puts the babies to bed she has a few minutes of "family time" when she plays a few hymns and sings to the delight of her “babies.”
Welcome Kristian “Taylor” Stork
Nathan Bowman, Dr. Snow's new MA comes to OOA after
being in the medical field for eleven years. Starting as an
EMT/ Firefighter with Lacey Fire Dist. 3 and American Medical Response, he then worked at Group Health Olympia in the urgent care as a MA for three years. He is married and has an eight year old son named Lucas and two cats, Rodney and Roxanne and one dog named Jack. In his free time he enjoys hiking and camping and almost any type of outdoor sport from snow skiing to surfing. Recently he and his wife drove across the country and back in two weeks sleeping in their car at highway rest stops. The entire trip was such a fun and educational adventure, they went out to explore our country and were blown away by its beauty.
Welcome Nathan Bowman

In remembrance of 9/11, your FUN Committee will provide all employees with a ribbon they can wear. These will be delivered to the clinics by end of day 9/10/15.
Where’s the
Crutch?
You’ve heard of “Where’s Waldo?”
You’ve played “Where’s Little Bill” in the local ”Coffee News” newsletter. Well now it’s time
for…TAA-DAAA….”Where’s
the Crutch?” Each week a crutch will be
hidden in “Week At A Glance.” It
may be hidden in a picture, within some text, or out in the open. It’s
your challenge to find it. What do you get? A few moments of fun
and entertainment. It’s also a sneaky way to get you to look through the entire newsletter.
Congratulations to the entireOOA MRI Team and Lisa Looney, Dr. Jack Fields,
and Dr. Clyde Carpenter on receiving accreditation by The American College of Radiology. OOA’s
Executive Committee and CEO Sam Derrick extend their sincere thanks for the dedication, professionalism and teamwork that resulted in this significant achievement. This signifies that OOA’s MRI Center provides this essential service to our community at the highest standards of the radiology profession. Great Job OOA MRI Team!

October 1 is just around the corner and it is an important date for those employees who are newly eligible to enter our plan. If you have been here for one full year (hire date prior to October 1, 2014) and worked at least 1000 hours during the year, you meet the eligibility requirements of our plan and can now start deferring a portion of you wages into the 401k plan. You can defer up to $18,000 ($24,000 if you are over 50) into the plan. These are tax free dollars – or if you prefer you can pay the taxes now by electing to do a ROTH
deferral. The really good part of
this is that if you put at least 4% of your salary into the pension plan, OOA will match that 4% dollar for dollar. Another piece of the pension plan is the Employer Discretionary Funding that OOA contributes to the plan on your behalf; currently 6% of your annual salary once you are eligible to enter the plan. For those employees entering the plan on October 1 of this year – you will receive the match and discretionary funding on wages earned in October through December. If you are eligible, you will be receiving a packet of information along with enrollment forms in the next couple of weeks. If you do not receive a packet by mid-month, please contact Toni Clark (X1123) in the admin office and she will be happy to send you one.
