I was so proud of all of our amazing children last week who did so well to complete the cross country at school. They all did a lot of training and this payed off with some great results on the day. It was also great to see our kids do so well at the district cross country at Tahuna on Friday, where our children received many placings. John Muir our Sport Energizer commented on the amazing post test results that our kids achieved by all of their hard work. Thank you to all of the parents who made it to support the kids at our school and the district cross-country. It is amazing to see such support when I know it is the busy time for farmers. Jump Rope For Heart Our school will be running a Jump Rope for Heart Day on the 10 th of September to meet several goals for our students. They will be raising funds for both our school and the Heart Foundation, the amount that the school receives will be dependant upon the amount of funds we raise. Each child will come home with a fundraising sheet to collect money for sponsoring their skip-a-thon. The children will be placed into groups of 5-6 and there will be at least one person from each group who will be skipping for the whole time between 10am-2pm. During this time we will also have some fun activities related to skipping to keep the momentum. Everyone is welcome to come for the day or part of the day to support the children and or help with activities. This is all part of our goal of building the children’s fitness levels and supporting them in becoming healthy young people. GymSport Competition Next Thursday the 3 rd of September is the Gym Sport competition that many of our children are competing in at Morrinsville Event Centre. If you haven’t already, please return the permission slip and fees for this trip. Sausage Sizzle A reminder that this Friday we are having our school sausage sizzle, parents on duty are Eagleton, Labao and Kelly. School Car Park It is really important for the school bus to be able to move down the parking area to the front of the school so we can load students as soon as the bus arrives. Please be me mindful of this when parking outside of the school and park in single file. Parent Helper If there is any parent or community member who would be able to help out for a few hours one day in the next couple of weeks with putting books away and generally organising the library this would be much appreciated. Kind regards Jordan, Karen, Raewyn and Wendy 25 August 2015, Term 3, Week 6 2 Chepmell Road, RD 1, Morrinsville Phone 07 887 4823 Email: [email protected] Email: [email protected]
