Fresh fruit, yoghurt and salad are offered every day, as stated in the menu, in addition to a varied choice of meal. On a Friday we offer ‘Friday Favourites’ to pupils; these are meals particularly favoured and enjoyed by pupils. Many of our pupils in Key Stage 2 switch from a packed lunch to a school dinner on this day! DINING WITH PARENTS – FEEDBACK Pat, our cook, would like to thank all parents who took the time to respond to the ‘Dining with Parents’ questionnaire, she is grateful to receive so many responses and hear that you enjoyed the meal. SCHOOL DINNERS

School dinners cost £2.30 per day or £11.50 per week. If you wish to pay for the next half term (Monday 25th April – Friday 27th May), the amount is £52.90 per child, 23 lunches in total. Cheques should be made payable to LCC. Please can all outstanding payments for this term be paid by Thursday 7th April. Many thanks!

YEAR 4 BRASS BAND CONCERT Wow, the pupils were fantastic; we obviously have many talented musicians in Year 4, 5 and 6! Thank you to all the parents and grandparents that came to watch and support their child. I would also like to say a big thank you to Aimee and Evie’s grandad for his generous donation.

SCHOOL DINNER GRAB BAGS – KS2 ONLY

Grab Bags containing a sandwich, fruit, biscuit/cake, bottle of water will be available to order from Pat, as an alternative to a hot school dinner, for all pupils having school dinners after the Easter holiday. Pupils must order a grab bag at the kitchen window prior to the start of the school day (8.20 – 8.35 am); no late orders will be accepted. The grab bag will be available for pick up at the kitchen hatch at lunchtime.

WELCOME BACK MRS HACKING It is lovely to welcome Mrs Hacking back to school after her recent operation. The pupils in Reception – Oak class are equally delighted to see her back.

RAINBOW RAMBLE – SATURDAY 23RD APRIL Rainbow House are having their seventh annual eighteen, eleven or five mile healthy fun run or walk on Saturday 23rd April starting and finishing at Bishop Rawstorne High School, Croston. If you would like to take part please see attached flyer for details.

EUXTRONOMY STAR GAZING NIGHT – WEDNESDAY 4TH MAY

Euxtronomy are having a star gazing night on Wednesday 4th May at Silvester Farm, Euxton. The event is free and hot drinks and food will be available to buy. For more details please see attached flyer.

National Writing Competition Congratulations to Minnie in Year 6 for being a winner in the national writing competition.

Year 5/6 Swimming Gala Well done to Pierrot, Olivia, Aimee, Leon and Elliott in Year 5 and Katy, Ryan and Leah in Year 6 for representing the school in the Year 5/6 Swimming Gala on Wednesday 23rd March. They all swam really well! Particular mention goes to Elliott who came first in 25 Metres Butterfly, Ryan who came third in 25 Metres Breast Stroke and the 4 x 25 Metres Medley Relay team comprised of Elliott, Ryan, Katy and Leah who came third - fantastic!

WALKING BUS

The walking bus is a fabulous way to avoid the traffic in a morning. Please look out for Mrs Russon, Mrs Swansbury or Mrs Smith arriving at the Spar at approximately 8.25

a.m. and leaving promptly at 8.30 a.m. for school, with no stopping en route to pick up additional children. Please see Mr Caunce for more information.

TOKENS/VOUCHERS We are collecting Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers until Friday 8th July, Batteries and Clothing, Bedding etc. for the clothes bank at the rear of the school. Your support is really appreciated!
