XITH COURSE OF CAROTID ULTRASOUND

Course presentation:

Intensive one-day online course on carotid Doppler ultrasound, which includes theoretical presentations, case

presentations and numerous quizzes.

The course is addressed to all specialists and resident doctors in the specialties of vascular surgery, cardiology, neurology,

internal medicine. No experience in carotid ultrasonography is required.

The course is organized under the auspices of the Romanian Society of Vascular Surgery and is EMC credited.

Course objectives:

• Anatomy of the carotid arteries

• Physiology and pathophysiology of the carotid circulation

• Indications of carotid ultrasonography in the context of current guidelines

• Morphological and functional parameters of carotid ultrasonographic examination. Limits and traps.

• Indications for complementary imaging investigations

• Diagnosis of carotid artery stenosis

• Therapeutic options for carotid disease in the context of current guidelines

• Indications for revascularization and the technique used in carotid stenoses

• Treatment and follow-up of the revascularized patient
