ATHLETEOF THEWEEK
This week’s Athlete of the Week is Turner Klein. Turner is a runner for the Keota Cross Country team. Turner is the leader or lead runner for the team. All year Turner was looking forward to improving his time. Turner’s best time was a 16:49. At the SICL Conference meet he was able to win the conference. Then after running at Districts, Turner had a good enough time to make it to State. When asked about what State was like Turner said, “ It was big and there were a lot of people,” but he was prepared because of State Track. Overall, this year Turner is honored and was happy to be able to run at State where he placed 33rd out of 138 run-ners. We look forward to seeing Turner back next year at State.

HOW WILL SENIORS RESPOND THE SECOND
TIME AROUND? Each week, we ask a Senior the same question they were asked for the Question of the Week when they were in 7th grade. Let’s see how their responses have changed over the years...
Jacob Wickenkamp Q: What is your favorite
song?
7th:A: “Space Bound by Eminem”
12th: A: “The
Gambler by Kenny Rog-ers, because it’s a life les-son within a
song”
This week’s Junk or Jewel goes to Mallory Woltering and her black 2014 Ford Escape. This bad boy has 44,000 miles on it with an Eco Boost engine and it gets an impressive 25 miles per gallon. This car was previously owned by a person out of Michi-gan, but Mallory got behind the wheel on the 26th of November this year. Mallory loves how nice it is. She says that it has lots of room in it and can hold five pas-sengers. She hasn’t made any good memories in it yet, but she did almost hit a cat just days af-ter she got it, which would have been bad. Mallory has come up with the name Black Betty for her car, just because the name goes with the color. She has only owned one previous car, and she says this is her favorite. Mallory rides with Conner Woltering and Aaliyah Heldman the most and travels mostly to Keota High School, where she is finishing out her senior year.
