I do know that we have one staff member, Mrs. Penny Anderson, who is retiring from her Educational Assistant and Library Associate positions. LCS has been blessed to have had Mrs. Anderson all these years. Words cannot express how much we appreciate all the things she has done for our school during her time here. We wish her all the best! Our Awards Day ceremony has been scheduled for Monday, June 20 at 1:00 pm. Please mark this date on your calendars and join us. Our last Early Dismissal/LIT day is on Monday, June 20. One of our school goals was to lower the level of anxiety in our high school students from 48% to 28%. We are happy to report that according to our Tell Them From Me survey; students who have intense feelings of fear, intense anxiety or worry about particular events has declined from 48% (2015) to 20% (2016). Another goal was for 80% of the students in Grades 1- 8 to be able to comprehend at grade level. We are still waiting for final testing to see how we did with this goal. Our goals next year will focus on writing. Mrs. Heather Hobbes, a learning consultant for Prairie South, has been meeting with the teaching staff to provide in-service on the new 2016-2017 Students Achieve report cards. Ms. Wilson attended an additional workshop to help support our school. These report cards will look slightly different from what you are familiar with; we will provide parents with more information about the format of the report cards early in the new school year. Grad week is finally here! Our school is very excited to have a grad ceremony this year! We are busy decorating, preparing speeches, and getting ready to celebrate this important milestone. Please join us in celebrating with our three graduates on Friday, June 3. The Ecumenical Church Service is at 4:00 pm at St. Radegonde Church and the Commencement Exercises are at 7:30 pm at LCS.
