Our venue can play host to weddings for 90 guests in the main restaurant and up to 36 in the Pearl, our private room.

Your guests can enjoy award-winning coastal cuisine, and the freshest fish available on the island caught by our very own fisherman Terry Gallon.

Our exceptional wine list spans a broad spectrum of the island’s best vineyards, allowing your guests to sample the best island vintages under one roof.

The Oyster Inn’s main dining room can be booked for private functions for up to 90 guests. The Inn is a great venue to host your guests in style. Designed by Katie Lockhart, the restaurant features marine blue floors, classic bentwood furniture and tongue-and-groove panelling, evoking a timeless, seaside sophistication.

With broad sweeping views across the bay towards the Coromandel, The Oyster Inn features award-winning cuisine, having earned itself a place on Metro’s Top 50 Restaurants 4 years running.

At The Oyster Inn restaurant we serve honest, simple dishes made with the very best local produce and pride ourselves on our fresh seafood and shellfish. We’re obsessed with the provenance of everything we serve - so it’s ideal that we’re located on Waiheke Island, which provides us with bountiful supplies of almost everything we need.

A local fisherman Terry Gallon catches fish for us. We shuck oysters from around New Zealand, including Waiheke’s very own Te Matuku oysters, and our vegetables are grown especially for us by local gardeners. We’re also proud to support a wide range of local and regional artisanal New Zealand food producers.

With menus starting at $65 per person, the Inn is the perfect venue to host your guests in elegant yet relaxed surroundings with delicious food and wine to match.

The Main Restaurant

With its grandstand views of Oneroa Bay, The Oyster Inn’s elegant private dining space The Pearl Room is the perfect place for a small, intimate wedding for up to 36 guests seated, or 50 for a standing cocktail reception.

The Pearl Room features a wraparound veranda for guests to mingle. Inside, artworks by British artist Tracey Emin and local Waiheke artist Dennis O’Connor create a stylish event space that’s perfect for private gatherings.

Beautiful Oneroa Beach is directly below The Oyster Inn, a short 5 minute stroll down. We have relationships with wonderful wedding planners on the island who can arrange a fantastic beach wedding. My Waiheke Weddings & Events (www.mywaiheke.co.nz) have a tailor-made beach wedding package designed for up to 36 guest which is ideal for smaller, intimate beach weddings with a delicious and fun-filled reception to follow in the Pearl Room.

My Waiheke will recommend the best area on the beach, based on tide and time of the year, set up and style everything. They provide the following:

Beach Weddings made easy

Group DiningFor larger groups we offer value-added packages. For 10 guests or more we offer a la carte dining, and for 15 or more (up to 36) we offer pre-selected entrée and mains served family style to share.

We offer three value-packed pricing options per person.

For pre-selection of entrées, mains and desserts, we will provide you with menu options one month prior to your event for confirmation. You will choose 2 entrées and 2 mains from a selection to be advised. Typical options, including some iconic Oyster Inn favourites, are listed below:

Rooms at the InnStay in one of our 3 gorgeous rooms.

All rooms feature superking beds, soft cotton sheets, fluffy pillows, AESOP bath products, IPod docks, satellite television, cotton bathrobes, safes for valuables, tea-making facilities and GHD hairdryers. Oversized striped beach towels and beach bags are provided for guests to use at the beach.

Rooms 1 & 2 are deluxe doubles, featuring a day bed for lounging which can also accommodate a 3rd guest. These rooms also have private verandahs with partial sea views. Room 3 is a standard double with village/car park view.

Our rates include transfers to and from Matiatia ferry pier and breakfast for two. All teas and coffees are complimentary for guests during their stay.

By Airseaplane: Auckland Seaplanes is a fantastic way to get to Waiheke Island, a once in a lifetime experience you’ll never forget. Leaving directly from the city just off the Wynyard Quarter, the scenic flight will take you directly to Oneroa Bay. helicopter: Helitranz operate a helicopter service to the island landing at the Waiheke Island Aerodrome about 15 minutes drive from the Inn. There are limited landings at Mudbrick and Cable Bay Vineyards (both about 5 minutes from the Inn) but these require prior approval with the vineyard and are for their customers only. www.helitranz.co.nz + 64 9 415 3550

By SeaThere are 2 operators to Waiheke – Fullers and Sealink. Fullers has frequent sailings from the CBD. Sealink operates the car ferry with services from Half Moon Bay, and from the city in peak summer season. Sealink also operate a passenger service from the city but on weekends only.

Journey times from the city are approximately 35 mins, 45 mins if including a stop at Devonport. Car ferries from Half Moon Bay vary between 45 minutes and 1 hour.
