Elopement

Details: Wedding ceremony performed in our outdoor Gazebo or other location selected by the wedding couple. Ceremony will be officiated by a local Celebrant. Wedding license is required and can one obtained at the court house, our neighbor, for just a $35 fee with application.

Our Executive Chef, Chris Harris, will prepare a special dinner for two paired with a local Virginia wine. Menu to be planned in private meeting with the Chef. Enjoy 6-8 courses served with unlimited wine and champagne. Dinner music available in the Bride and Groom’s favorite theme.

Expect turn down service with rose petals and a dozen roses. Champagne with chocolate berries for two will be waiting in the room after dinner. Breakfast will be served in the room the next day.

Spend the first day as a married couple exploring Skyline Drive (Shenandoah National Park), Luray Caverns or a local winery! A picnic lunch for two will be prepared and packaged in a Mimslyn Inn signature thermal cooler.

Wedding Package Policies

General InformationRoom rental rates include set-up of tables, linen, china, glass and silverware. Banquet captains will be assigned prior to your event. Personal decorations are permitted but must be approved by management in advance. In most cases at the conclusion of your event the banquet room must be reset for the next function; decoration storage fees may apply in addition to removal fees. The Mimslyn Inn will not be held accountable for loss of or damage to any decoration or guest property. An additional charge of $35 per hour will apply for the removal of decorations, flowers or other fixtures remaining after the agreed rental room time.

We highly recommend that you engage the service of an event planner and/or assign an alternate contact on your wedding day so that should any changes be made they would act on your behalf.

You are responsible for any damage to the building and property caused by your guest.

Please Note: If both dining rooms (Circa ‘31 and the Blue Ridge Room) are rented on a Saturday night for the same event, all 45 guest rooms must be guaranteed for both Friday and Saturday nights.

Deposit and Fees The package rates are based on a 5 hour event. Room rental fees are subject to a pre-tax 20% service fee and Virginia State tax of 9.3% on the service fee. All events will end no later then 11:00pm regardless of start time, unless prior arrangements have been made with Management of The Mimslyn Inn.

A signed contract and non-refundable deposit of $1,000 will confirm your booking. Another deposit of 50% of the estimated remaining function cost will be required a minimum of 60 days prior to function date. Payment in full, based on the guaranteed count, is due 7 days prior to the event, unless prior arrangements have been made. Advanced payments are non-refundable.

Food and Beverage Your menu selection, room-set-up and the requests will be outlined in a contract which will be prepared based on discussion with our sales department. The contract will be emailed to you for final review and signature confirming details. Any addendum to the contract will be binding by both parties. An estimated number of attendees is due 14 days prior to event date. Full payment and guaranteed number of attending guests must be made no later than 7 business days prior to the event date.

Wedding Cake - Outside vendor wedding cakes are encouraged. Delivery and set-up would not be the Inn’s responsibility. Should the Inn be asked to cut the cake, a $3 per guest fee will apply. Plates, forks and napkins will be supplied by the Inn.

The Mimslyn Inn will enforce all ABC laws and reserves the right to refuse service to anyone. Shots of alcohol will not be served and no one will be served more than one drink per person at the same time.

Guest Room AccommodationsA minimum reservation of twenty (20) guest rooms is required to book a wedding venue. These rooms are specified based on venue location. Any rooms within the required twenty room block that remain vacant will be added to the final bill. Requests over the required 20 rooms will be blocked out awaiting individual reservations.

Miscellaneous InformationAdequate banquet space has been reserved for your agenda. Final specifications will be detailed at least 30 days prior arrival. Should the need arise; we reserve the right to relocate your event(s) to another room. We will make every effort to contact you in advance should this be the case.

Cancellation PolicyIf you decide to cancel your event, you agree that the Hotel will suffer damages. Such damages will be a result of the Hotel’s inability to offer your unused space or services to another group and /or the cost to the hotel of trying to re-sell same space/services. The exact amount of damages will be difficult to determine. The hotel will not refund advance deposits or payments of any kind.

Rates do not include tax or service fees. Should you chose not to purchase a wedding package, a la cart menu and room rental options are available. Due to licensing and insurance requirements, all food and beverage to be served on Hotel property must be supplied and prepared by Hotel. In addition, no remaining food or beverage shall be removed from the premises.
