Entrepreneurship among women, no doubt improves the wealth of the nation in general and of the family in particular. Women today are more willing to take up activities that were once considered the preserve of men, and have proved that they are second to no one with respect to contribution to the growth of the economy. Women entrepreneurship must be moulded properly with entrepreneurial traits and skills to meet the changes in trends,
• This conclave is jointly organized by AICTE & IIWM• Will be motivating 3500+ Girl students to waste management business• IIWM & AICTE will be registering the interested participant and guiding them
to connect from ‘Start Up India to Stand Up India’• This conclave will be part of a series of activities to encourage
entrepreneurship amongst young graduates
IIWM training for empowering women on Clean and Green Technologies• With Laghu Udyog Bharathi the reach was 500 Women Entrepreneurs, so far
with 100+ entrepreneurs who are successfully operating• With Pollution Control Board the reach was about 300 women entrepreneurs• Undertakes courses, industry internships and professional development and
networking opportunities

• Technical know-how and potential of Green Technologies and Waste Management Entrepreneurship possibilities will be explained.
• Exposure about various Funding avenues will be imparted• Launch of online portal to link various budding entrepreneurs for handling will
be highlighted• Examples of successful entrepreneurs in the form of presentations will be
made by leading women entrepreneurs• Motivating women students to become financially independent which brings
about empowerment• Encourage innovations in waste management sector which will help in cost
effective Clean India
Highlights of WeCon
challenges global markets and also be competent enough to sustain and strive for excellence in the entrepreneurial area. Hence, this conclave is aimed to boost the next generation of women entrepreneurs by providing new avenues of business like waste management.At this one day conclave, 3500+ women students from AICTE approved colleges across India will participate and receive orientation to start their own waste management business. This conclave is a beginning of the yearlong grooming and handholding these women will receive through various structured interactions designed by IIWM.

All India Council for Technical Education (hereinafter Called “AICTE”),a statutory Body of Ministry of Human Resource Development,Govt. Of India, established under the All India Council for Technical Education Act , 1987. It is a national level Apex Advisory Body to conduct survey on the facilities available for technical education and to promote development in the country in a cordinated and integrated manner. AICTE works with the vision to be a world class organization leading technological and socio-economic development of the country by enhancing the global competitiveness of technical manpower and by ensuring high quality technical education to all sections of the society. It is assisted by 10 Statutory Boards of Studies, namely, UG Studies in Eng. and Tech., PG and Research in Eng. Tech., management studies, vocational education, technical education, pharmaceutical education, architecture, hotel management and catering technology, information technology, town and country planning.
The International Institute of Waste Management (IIWM) is a “Not-for-Profit” organization established in India in the year 2009, as a Ministry of Science and Technology Project at Bhopal. This successful project then evolved into a full-fledged organization to support the Government in creating an impetus in the field of Waste Management activities. IIWM works towards bridging the gap between the Governmental programmes, schemes, legislations and the ‘on field execution’ by implementing agencies. IIWM works in the field of Solid Waste Management (E-Waste, Hazardous Waste, Bio-Medical Waste, Domestic Waste, Construction and Demolition Waste, Non-Hazardous Industrial Waste and Agricultural and Horticultural waste), Sanitation, Wastewater Management, Resource Efficiency, Entrepreneurship Development, Policy and Regulatory Framework, Outreach programmes. The institute is supported by several Central and State Governments and the leading Corporate Houses. It is empaneled by several International Agencies and International Universities. IIWM has a Pan India presence and has offices in Bangalore, Delhi, Bhopal, Shillong and Pune. It has successfully completed more than 250 Projects in India. Activities like undertaking evaluations, conceptualizing new and innovative projects, implementing pilot projects, designing capacity building programmes, undertaking training programmes for all stakeholders, facilitating exchange of ideas between developed and developing countries, providing feedbacks to the Government on its schemes and programmes, creating new policies etc., are the areas IIWM works.
