Malcolm and Faye really deserve a break. The couple has devoted their entire lives to helping others. Apart from their 4 grown up children over the years they have also adopted orphans and cared for many foster kids and international students. Now its time for Faye and Malcolm get a little back. Daughter Kirsten is a semi professional opera singer and her husband Scott, is a police officer. Kirsten is all for her parents realizing their dream of buying a block of land and building their dream home.

Summary of works – Interior There wasn’t enough money in the budget to do all three houses so Shaynna concentrated on the interior of just one, Number 19, the family home. It’s accumulated years of stories and memories in its walls, but the accumulating didn’t stop there. This house needed a massive de-clutter before work could begin. New carpet and paint in the lounge room totally transformed the space. The kitchen had a much-needed upgrade, which included a respray, new sink, new taps, and all new appliances. Upstairs Shaynna ripped out the bar to create a kitchenette for entertaining in this large rumpus room, which can also double as a parent’s retreat! Carpet and window treatments in the bedrooms completed the modern finish which is reflected in the colour scheme thought-out the house.

Summary of works – Exterior Charlie channelled practically all his budget and effort into the front of these properties. This didn’t leave much for the back, but it was vital to improve the street appeal. He tidied the garden at number 17 and spruced up the paint work. Number 19 got some of the same treatment and he removed the light blocking tree. More painting, planting and mowing transformed the front of number 21. Charlie replaced the decaying retaining wall and removed the brick arches on the front portico – putting in new posts and beams instead, all of which lets more light into the house. All in all this trio of houses are now a tidy package just ripe for the picking!
