WEBSITE ANALYSIS (12 YEARS A SLAVE) This is the website analysis of the movie 12 Years a Slave. The genre of my film is Drama, which is similar to the genre of this movie, this is why I chose to analyse this particular website. THE MAIN PAGE: The front page of the website is very simple-looking yet dynamic at the same time, it states the name of the movie clearly, and under that is a little description of the film. If you look more closely, on the right-below of the, main page, the awards nominated and won by the film are also mentioned, this is to show the success and outcome of the film. On the right top, are links to find out more about the film or to purchase the film and also a sign up link is available for to receive free curricular toolkits. This is a way to connect with the audience who visit the website.

This is the website analysis of the movie 12 Years a Slave. The genre of my film is Drama, which is similar to the genre of this movie, this is why I chose to analyse this particular website.
THE MAIN PAGE:
The front page of the website is very simple-looking yet dynamic at the same time, it states the name of the movie clearly, and under that is a little description of the film. If you look more closely, on the right-below of the, main page, the awards nominated and won by the film are also mentioned, this is to show the success and outcome of the film. On the right top, are links to find out more about the film or to purchase the film and also a sign up link is available for to receive free curricular toolkits. This is a way to connect with the audience who visit the website.
The background of the main page is not just a still background image but is a short video clip of the movie playing on the whole screen as the background, it does not dominate the whole imagery but blends in perfectly with the little introduction of the film on the main page.
OTHER:
Clear and simple instructions are given on how to navigate through the whole website as it may seem a little more technically advanced compared to other usual websites. Scrolling down as advised, the main star of the film’s picture appears as background with his current and future activities stated. Also a quote by the actor is mentioned under the text.
Similar to the main actor’s professional information, each scroll leads to the other actors’ information.
RESOLUTION:
As the website is about to come to its resolution, there are a few clips of the film available with quotes from the film itself.
The last page of the website requests the viewers to connect with the distributors/film through other social networks such as Facebook and Twitter, also, help to find theatres to watch 12 Years A Slave, near you is given. And finally the names of the actors in the film are present as the resolution.
IN A NUTSHELL:
The whole website had a basic theme throughout, the color was dark and gloomy, there is not much text as it is kept eye catching and simple.
