Search for the word "WebQuest" in any search engine, and you soon discover thousands of online lessons created by teachers around the world.

What is a WebQuest?

A WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented online tool for learning, says workshop expert Bernie Dodge 1. This means it is a classroom-based lesson in which most or all of the information that students explore and evaluate comes from the World Wide Web.

Beyond that, WebQuests: can be as short as a single class period or as long as a month-long unit;usually (though not always) involve group work, with division of labor among students who take on specific roles or perspectives;are built around resources that are preselected by the teacher. Students spend their time USING information, not LOOKING for it.

To accomplish your task you will work individually. The steps you will need to finish this WebQuest are as follows:

1.First you will pick a career2.Once you have found a career that interests you, you will search for it’s yearly salary3.After you figure out the yearly salary you will divide by twelve to get your monthly budget4.You will now pick a car. You can either use a car payment that you previously pay or go to any dealership website and pick a car. If you go to a dealership website you must find out the total value of the car and divide by twelve to find out your monthly payment. (Remember you have other items that you will need to purchase so be smart choosing your car!)5.Once you have completed all of this you will go to either walmart.com or target.com and figure out the value for the items that are listed under The Task section.6.Once all of these steps have been completed you must add up all your totals and subtract them from your careers’ monthly salary.7.If you return a positive number then you have budgeted your money well, if you return a negative number you must repeat steps four through six until you return a positive number.

It will be important for you to cite all of your findings that you find online and keep track of all the websites that you use. I have provided a few for you to use to help you get started.

Once you have found all of your information you will turn it in on a separate sheet of paper that will list your monthly car payment and all of your other monthly items listed. Once you have added all of these items up you will then subtract from your monthly salary and circle your answer. The project will be due in two weeks.
