safety.
Task:Firefighters help saves lives. You are going to have a part in helping save lives. You are going to create a brochure telling and showing good fire safety tips
for the kitchen. After you finish making the brochure, you will take the brochure home and give it to your parents/guardians and tell them
what you learned about fire safety in the kitchen.
Process:Together, in groups of four, you are going to visit
several websites containing good kitchen fire safety. Please click here for website #1. Please
click here for website #2. You will also watch one video on YouTube containing kitchen rules. Please click here for the video. You will take notes in your groups on the website information and the video. We will come together as a class to discuss what
needs to be done in the kitchen to practice good fire safety. You will complete a worksheet that I will
provide. The worksheet will be a picture of a kitchen showing good and bad habits in the
kitchen. You will identify what needs to be done differently in the kitchen or what is an example of good fire safety in the kitchen. After you complete
the worksheet, you will create a brochure with examples of good kitchen fire safety. You will get your information from your notes that you took on
the websites, videos, and our class discussion.
Evaluation:You will be graded on your notes. You must have at
least a half page of notes (5 points). You will be graded on the completion of your worksheet. You
must have at least 5 correct answers on the worksheet to receive full credit (15 points). If you can find more errors within the picture then you will receive extra credit. You will also be graded
upon the completion of your brochure (25 points). You must have five fire safety kitchen tips listed in
your brochure. You must have a picture drawn for each example. Pictures must have color.
