(Ulladulla Public SchoolAnnual School Report 2013) (3302)
School context
At the end of 2013 school year there were 641 students at Ulladulla Public School comprising 340 boys and 301 girls. There were 28 students in 3 Special Education classes. Students come from a range of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.
We had 38 members of school staff in 2012. All teaching staff met the professional requirements for teaching in NSW public schools.
Principals message
Our students during 2013 have continued to excel in academic, sporting and creative pursuits. Academically, results were high across all grades in school based assessments. The schools Annual report highlights the achievements of the students across the whole range of educational experiences. The school successfully provides a broad educational program whilst maintaining high academic standards.
Our school fosters quality teaching and learning programs with a strong emphasis on Literacy and
Numeracy with opportunities for students to participate in many extra-curricular programs and
activities. Ulladulla continues to maintain excellent resources and opportunities for students to utilise technology in learning.
Our school continues to focus on the development of the whole child. Strong and effective student welfare programs permeate all school programs. We have a strong K6 ethos fostered through buddy classes; K6 assemblies; playground areas; and school functions.
The staff participated in professional learning opportunities at the school and regional level and
also with other local schools. Throughout 2013 the staff worked on implementing the English Australian Curriculum.
I am privileged to have an enthusiastic, highly skilled and committed staff who all work towards
the common goals of the school. Each staff member contributes uniquely. Many make additional time available to lead a range of extracurricular and sporting activities. Without this support the school would not be able to provide the quality of education that characterizes Ulladulla.
I would like to thank the school community who supported the students and staff in a wide variety
of ways through their participation in school programs and activities, P&C, fundraising, canteen, uniform shop, home reading, sport, carnivals, costuming, assembly items and the school play and various other programs.
Details of many highlights of the year are included in this report and I hope you enjoy reading about your childrens and our schools achievements. I thank everyone who contributed
information to this report and to students, staff and parents who responded to surveys.
I certify that the information in this report is the result of a rigorous school self-evaluation process and is a balanced and genuine account of the schools achievements and areas for development.

P & C and/or School Council message
Ulladulla Public School P&C has achieved another successful year due to the tremendous efforts of students, staff and parents. This support allowed us to raise significant funds that directly benefited the children. We held our usual fundraising activities which included meal deals, food stalls and our annual school Market Day. In total we raised over $15,000.
A big thank you must go to parents, grandparents and friends who gave up their free time to help at these fundraising events. Without this support these fundraisers would not happen.
Throughout the year weve contributed funds towards many projects including the Softfall cover over the infants playground, updates to sound and lighting in the school hall and the Year 6 Farewell.
Ive enjoyed my first year as President and would like to thank everyone who gave donations of time and money. I look forward to your continued support in 2014.
Aletheia Minassian
P&C President
Student representatives message
The Student Representative Council (SRC) had meetings to discuss things that were happening around the school, in the community with a strong focus on the wider world.
We have laid plans for a healthy future in sponsoring and helping disadvantaged children through World Vision. Future direction will also involve a major focus on enhancing our schools Sun Smart status with Cancer Council Australia. We have also had a healthy injection of fundraising ideas for a bright and positive start to 2014.

Management of non-attendance
Class teachers maintain accurate attendance records to ensure that Student attendance is monitored on a regular basis. Parents are advised through formal communication such as newsletters, parent interviews of their legal requirements in relation to compulsory school attendance. Should individual attendance levels be of concern, parents are contacted to justify reasons for unsatisfactory levels. Where required, support from the Home School Liaison Officer is requested to investigate and resolve ongoing attendance concerns and set up an attendance improvement plan.
