A MESSAGE FROM THE LOUIS RIEL SCHOOL BOARD Happy New Year to the students, families, and residents of the Louis Riel School Division ! We hope that you enjoyed being with family and friends over the holiday season, and we wish you a 2019 that is rewarding, prosperous, and filled with learning. On October 24 th , 2018, Josie Landry, Sandy Nemeth, and Neil Vadeboncoeur were elected as school trustees for Ward 3 in LRSD, which includes River Park South. As the voices of our community on the Louis Riel School Board , and the elected guardians of public education, we are committed to the work, conversations, and decisions that will ensure the public K-12 education system remains focused on ensuring successful outcomes for all students. After all, schools belong to communities. This year promises to be one of both challenge and opportunity for your school board. We look forward to providing meaningful and relevant input into the promised government review of public education. Currently we are hard at work on the 2019-2020 budget, and on a multi-year strategic plan, both of which will ensure learning and engagement opportunities for our students, along with a long-term vision and plan for their continued success. Mindful of the implications for tax payers, we remain committed to utilizing resources in the most efficient and effective way possible. We invite you to peruse our Annual Report to the Community for 2017-2018 . Here you will find a wealth of information and data on everything from student engagement in the arts to student well- being, and more. For insight into the current pressures we are managing, the opportunities before us, and to offer your opinion on the 2019- 2020 draft budget, we invite you to attend our public consultation on Tuesday, February 12 th at 6:30 at the board
