Car Parking for the Fittleworth Flyers 5

As car parking may be one of two options, please be alert and look for car Parking signs when you come via the A283 from the West or East, or if you come from the South along School Lane.

Please do not enter the Village Hall Car Park entrance unless you are specifically directed to do so.

Car Park if weather has been dry leading up to the event:

Fittleworth Parish Council are kindly allowing us to use the recreation field next to the village hall for parking. Use of the recreation field will of course depend on the weather prior to the event, as we do not wish to damage the field. The entrance to the recreation field is approx 50m down School Lane after turning off the A283. If coming from the south please proceed to this entrance, do not use the Village Hall entrance.

There will be one road marshall on the A283 at the end of Limbourne Lane to safely guide pedestrians  across the road for walking to the race start.

Walking distances are as follows:Race HQ to Start: 1100m approx. via A283/Limbourne Lane Please allow yourself enough time to get from either Race HQ to the Start.

As you know, Fittleworth Flyers always have a great spread of refreshments after the race so after you have run, please join us back at race HQ and fill up with all the calories you have burnt off!

Alternative Car Park if we are unable to use the Village Recreation Ground:

If we are unable to use the recreation field for parking, cars will be guided up Limbourne Lane to a field just beyond the Churchwood sign. Car Parking signs will be placed along A283 and on School Lane directing you to Limbourne Lane.

Again there will be one marshall on the A283 to safely guide pedestrians across the road. The marshall will be where the Serpent Trail footpath meets the A283. There will not be a marshall where Limbourne Lane meets the A283. Therefore for Health and Safety reasons, pedestrians for the race must cross where this marshall is and follow the route to the start via the parking field.

Walking distances are as follows:Car Park to Race HQ: 700m approx.Car Park to Start: 700m approx.Race HQ to Start: 1400m approx. via the car park field Please allow yourself enough time to get from either Race HQ or the Car Park to the Start.

We suggest club race secretaries who have not had the race bibs sent to them collect their competitors bibs from HQ and then return to the car park and hand them out there. This will save too many people unnecessarily walking to Race HQ.
