Name: ____________________________________ Date Log Due: ______________ Independent Reading Log At the start of the semester, you were asked to select a book to read independently. As a Benold student, you are expected to bring a book to school daily to have to read in any class if you have finished your work early or to read during Advisory. For Language Arts class this semester, you will be expected to read your book for a minimum of 20 minutes per day, five days a week, for a cumulative weekly time of one hour and forty minutes. One day per week, we will have independent reading time in class, so make sure you bring your log and book to school with you each day and keep them in a safe place! To track what you read, you will keep a reading log. You can keep this log in the pocket of your journal or in another safe and accessible location. You will turn this reading log in each week on Monday. For each week’s log, there are five days included; however, you just need to make sure that you’ve read for a cumulative total of one hour and forty minutes for the entire week. Each week, you will need to write reflections (you only need at least three per week). Each reflection should be written using complete sentences, and should be a minimum of 2-3 sentences long. Here are prompts for possible reflections: 1. Predict what will happen next in your book. To do this, you must briefly explain the situation, make your prediction, and tell why you predict this. a.
