As the world largest leading financial and banking sectors, the HSBC Bank started its journey in Bangladesh with the most proficient HRM department. The most powerful department of HSBC Bank in Bangladesh is HRM department because the most important things of HSBC Bank like recruitment and selection processes are done by HSBC’s HRM department. In this report, we have covered some most significant current HR topics like recruitment process which assists to find out eligible employees and then select the applicants by applying the selection process, then they are given training so that the standardization of the work performance can be increased step by step and finally, to motivate the employees what benefits and offered are provided have been covered in bellow.

HSBC is a private commercial bank which is originated from Hong Kong and to a lesser extent in Shanghai, and the branches were first opened in 1865. The company was first formally incorporated in 1866 and also the home markets of the company are both the United Kingdom and Hong Kong. HSBC provides the services as Commercial Banking; Global Banking and Markets (investment banking); Retail Banking and Wealth Management; and Global Private Banking. HSBC started with its first branch in Bangladesh in 1996 that is providing a range of financial services in Bangladesh including commercial banking, consumer banking, global liquidity and cash management, trade services, treasury, and custody and clearing by establishing 13 offices, 39 ATMs and 9 Customer Service Centers those are providing its clients with world class service all the time. Recruitment:Recruitment is the process of finding and hiring the best qualified candidates (from within or outside of an organization) for a job opening, in a timely and cost effective way. The recruitment process includes analyzing the recruitments of a job, attracting employees to that job, screening and selecting applicants, hiring and integrating the new employee to the organization.

HSBC’s recruitment time:HSBC bank has no fixed time for recruitment of new employees ( personal interview, 2017, July 5). If anyone wants to leave the job for proper reasons, they call for recruitment. If there is any shortage in a particular department because of transfer of employees in different projects or some other purposes, they arrange recruitment process to fill up the vacancies. In some cases addition of new job create the need for employees and then they need to fill up the positions by recruitment.

Internal recruitment of HSBC:For recruiting executive level employees HSBC use their internal sources or personal contacts. Sometimes they use special agencies to recruit executive level employees.

Selection process:

Employee selection is the process of putting right man on the right position. It is a procedure

of matching organizational requirements with the skills and qualifications of people.

HCBC runs Final Selection Centers (FSCs) in a number of key global locations, including

London, Chicago, Hong Kong, Mexico and Dubai. If a candidate completes the telephone

interview successfully, they will invite to the location most appropriate to them. In

Bangladesh face-to-face selection is done in the head HR departments’ office where the job is

described eventually.
