They have written chapters in the ‘Achieving Excellence in the Early Years: a guide for Headteachers’ and are advisory consultants for Early Education. There will also be an early years market place of exhibitors and vendors during the morning refreshments and lunch break. The cost for the day inclusive of refreshments and lunch is: £65 for East Sussex schools and academies £55 for East Sussex PVI settings £80 for schools and PVI settings outside of East Sussex Kathryn Solly is the author of ‘Risk, Challenge and Adventure in Early Years’. Kathryn has taught across all phases of education and was a Headteacher at the Chelsea Open Air Nursery School and Children’s Centre for nearly 17 years. She has taught in schools around the world, is a Froebel Di Chilvers has written ‘Creating and thinking critically’ and ‘Young children talking. The art of conversation and why children need to chatter’. Di trained as a nursery nurse and then went on to teach and work in schools for over 20 years. Di has worked extensively in FE, HE and the National Strategies, she is now a freelance Advisory Consultant in Early

Early communication skills: the gateway to learningFollowing the very successful EYFS conference in March this year, we are delighted to welcome two inspirational key note speakers to our conference in 2020. The conference will explore the development of language in the early years through:

Kathryn Solly is the author of ‘Risk, Challenge and Adventure in Early Years’. Kathryn has taught across all phases of education and was a Headteacher at the Chelsea Open Air Nursery School and Children’s Centre for nearly 17 years. She has taught in schools around the world, is a Froebel Trust Traveling Tutor and Vice Chair of the Early Childhood forum.

Di Chilvers has written ‘Creating and thinking critically’ and ‘Young children talking. The art of conversation and why children need to chatter’. Di trained as a nursery nurse and then went on to teach and work in schools for over 20 years. Di has worked extensively in FE, HE and the National Strategies, she is now a freelance Advisory Consultant in Early Education and has led several professional development initiatives including ‘Talk for Reading’ and ‘Talk for Math Mastery’.
