WEEKLY QUESTION: “Which wild animals live in our neighborhood”

*I can read high frequency sight words: ‘’home, into, many, them.”

*I can read words short ‘u’ ( just, jump, dust, bump, dusk, hunt, crust….)

*I can read words with final consonant blends (rust, pant, milk, belt, romp, camp, gift, pond, desk, bend…..).

**I can read ‘bossy e’ words (long e): (cake, dime, use, tree, cone..)

*I can identify the cause and effect from a story.

Parent-Teacher Conferences are coming up the week of Oct. 15th-19th. EVERY PARENT NEEDS TO SIGN UP FOR A CONFERENCE! Please reserve a time to come and discuss your child’s progress. I will offer late times on Thursday, Oct. 18th. I also always offer very early times each morning and am available every day early morning and some late afternoons, if you ever want to chat.

Social Studies

We will continue working on animals and classifications. We will specifically study “Cactus Hotel,” which highlights the animals and plants of the Southwest, along with their habitats and characteristics.

Math We continue adding and subtracting numbers to 20. We will sometimes do this with words problems and in simple addition sentences. We will also be able to tell two related sentences: 1 addition/1 subtraction. Refer to the Engage New York website Module 1 lessons 30-35….. for hints on strategies used.
