Social Media Voice

Since kids can't buy things, I must aim for whoever oversees for them, such as their parents and

teachers. In order to bring more traffic to Funk Heritage Center, I must get the teachers involved.

The teachers can decide if they should bring their class to the museum or not. To be more

specific as to the type of teacher I am targeting, my focus would be on Gen X women who are

between the ages of 39-53 since most any teachers are around that age. The focus location will

be on Waleska and Canton, Georgia school's system area. My language will be in between casual

and professional for a couple of reasons. My voice has to be friendly so that the company can

feel like a fun place for kids to come. At the same time, it also has to be professional so that the

teachers can trust me with their student's education. My tone will be cheerful because a cheerful

tone will excite the youth. In order to make them happy, the teachers will aim to please them and

educate them, at the same time through The Funk Heritage Center. The purpose of our voice is to

inform our audience about what we have at our museum.

Creation Idea

December 1st is “National Pie day”. Using Facebook, post your favorite pie, tag the

Funk Heritage Center page and a friend who might like the same pie as you, then tell

them to do the same. Whoever tags the most gets a free Native American inspired pie. If

you have a Twitter but not a Facebook account, you can participate in “Throwback

Thursday” and post an old picture of you enjoying your favorite pie beside a picture of a

Native American style pie.

December 3rd is “National Roof Over Your Head Day”. To celebrate, Funk Heritage

along with its followers will help build and patch up houses for the less fortunate. There

will be behind-the-scenes photos and videos of all who participate on Instagram. The

photos posted will also be printed and posted in the museum gallery.

December 4th is “World Trick Shot Day”. On Facebook and Instagram create a how to

create a trick shot. You can participate by watching the video and following along on

how to use Native American materials to create a trick shot. Post your trick shot and tag

the center to receive a custom ball or Frisbee.

December 9th will be “National Pastry Day”. To celebrate, we need our followers and

potential followers to go on Twitter and use only emoji’s to spell out or take a picture of

your favorite pastry. Retweet if you see any others you like and tag Funk Heritage to

receive your choice of a Native American inspired pastry emoji shirt. You can pick up the

shirt at the Funk Heritage Center.

December 15th is “Free Shipping Day”. On this day, Funk Heritage Center will create an

Instagram post hosting a giveaway for any item in our gift shop of your choosing. (To

enter, just like the photo, tag the page with a picture of you at the museum, and then

comment down under our picture.)

December 31st is “New Year's Eve”, so come join Funk Heritage for their count down

live event on Instagram. We will be at the museum from 10:00 p.m. until after 1:00 a.m.

Bring in the new year with come culture and heritage. Join us as we fire fireworks and

games.

Humanization

This refers to using humor to connect with Funk Heritage audience. December 4th is

“National Sock Day” and to celebrate we are going to spend a couple of hours with our

followers back and forth on Twitter telling jokes and funny experiences they had while

visiting. Post you favorite sock on Instagram and comment “done” under our sock post.

Freedly will be used to celebrate December 8th’s “National Pretend You Are a Time

Traveler Day.” Funk Heritage has a program to celebrate the history of Native Americans

and educating the youth. On December 8th teachers can have kids pretend to go back in

time and have assignments about what they learn. We will collaborate with them and post

what they learn on our business page.

Using WordPress and Facebook to blend online and in-store experiences for . December

13th is “National Day of the Horse” and to celebrate we are going to identify one of our

popular gift shop items, horse statues. If you buy a horse statue, you get a highlight shout

out on Facebook and Twitter and a free horse ride on your next visit. After the contest,

come get your photo taken at the center and post it on Instagram.

On December 23rd we will celebrate “Natural Roots Day”. We will be doing a poll,

engaging conversation about connecting all social media followers with some Native

American heritage. We will also be doing a podcast live for call in questions. Tweet back

and forth personally with Director W. Jeff Bishop if you are unable to call.

December 31st we are going to celebrate “Universal Day of Peace”. Funk Heritage will go

silent and honor a peaceful no war world. Through Twitter you can @ or tag us on

Facebook to show how you will show your peace.
