Welcome to World Lit Field Trip #1!October 3 or 4, 2019
On this field trip, you will learn about the art and culture of several countries related to past or upcoming World Lit novels and short story collections. You will also have the opportunity to visit two other exhibits or events on campus.
Departure from Pioneer / Arrival at the UMMAMeet at the flagpole entrance at Pioneer at 10:00a. We will board the busses at 10:20a. Meet in front of the museum for a group photo upon arrival. No Backpacks. Don’t forget lunch money. Let your chaperone know if you need help U of M Museum of Artwith lunch $.
At 11:00am, you will either (1) Proceed into the UMMA museum for a docent-led tour(2) Proceed to your choice of 2 interesting sites on the U of M Campus.
Each group will “Pick 2” of the following choices. Plan to spend ½ hour at each. If you pick the Hatcher Grad Library, you will likely have time to visit more than one of the rooms there.

LunchFor lunch, you will have approximately 1 hour, from 12p-1p or 1p-2p. Your chaperone and group should decide where to go for lunch. Please be back from lunch 5 minutes before your UMMA tour visit begins. Also remember that you will not be permitted to take food/beverage on your tour. A map of restaurants is attached.
Departure from the UMMA / Return to Pioneer. The bus will depart at 2:00p.
How to make sure this Field Trip is Great (i.e. Expectations)Remember that you are a guest. Be polite and grateful. Listen to the hosts carefully. Think about the fact that we represent Pioneer HS. Be a positive representative. Make everyone proud. Ask thoughtful questions and engage with the hosts. The docents and museum staff have spent a lot of time preparing for our visit.
