Ops Discussion on the distribution of treasurer’s report – not

having enough copies available at the MOENA meeting for all voting delegates

Motion made by Gail: Treasurer’s Report should be handed out to all those in attendance at the MOENA State Council Meeting for review prior to voting.

o Discussion regarding distribution, recommendation made to have information available by power point

o Recommendation to amend motion by Judy Marlow:

The first line of distribution for the treasurer’s report should be power point for all those in attendance to view, when technology is available. Otherwise, hard copies will be provided for all those in attendance to review and return.

A copy of the treasurer’s report is to be given to each Chapter President.

Continue to have monthly meetings. Next meeting May 19th in Columbia

Education:o CEN review was in April at Boone Hospital in

Columbia, MO with 24 participantso Emergency Nursing Update on October 10 at

Boone Hospital. Topics include: Triage, Pediatrics, Psych, and Stroke Care

o Emergency Nurses Day Celebration on October 20th with presentation by Eliquis

o Triage Course planned for Spring of 2017 Membership drive – 11 new and 8 renewals

Crescent Chapter: Chris Hoag-Apel. Met in March Planning a calendar by month for injury prevention.

Partnering with Lafayette House Women’s Shelter Planning for Health Fairs – working with poison control

for free items to hand out.

St. Louis Chapter: Joan Eberhardt Meets monthly 4 members attended the State and Chapter Leaders

Conference in Las Vegas in February Education:

o ENPC Instructor Course was held at St. Louis Children’s Hospital

o TNCC scheduled for June 11 & 12o Successful Medical Coding Class held in March

at SLUo TCRN Review Course will be May 21 & 22

Docu-drama’s held in April and May at Soldan High School and Cardinal Ritter College Preparatory School

Planning a banquet for October 12th with a speaker and contact credits.

The chapter nominated individuals for and also helped sponsor the East Central Region Lifesaving Awards Banquet held on Friday May 13. The MC was Monica Adams from Channel 2 News. Very successful recognition of the work done by our EMS Providers in the field.

The chapter was invited to participate in a Brain Injury Association event, however, was unable to participate on the scheduled date. Instead, it was decided to sponsor one scholarship to the BIA-MO Donald Danforth Jr. Wilderness Camp on May 29-June 3 held at Sunnyhill Adventure Camp, an accredited Special Needs Camp

May 5th local broadcasting company in STL shared a story on texting and driving; MO is only 1 of 4 states that has not banned texting and driving. Senator Shupp is preparing a bill this year and plans on bringing it up in 2017. STL Chapter would like to support bill for no texting and driving and is asking for the support from MOENA. Minutes will be done the same. o Discussion/concerns regarding archived records

on the website. Length of time for archived records to

remain on website before going to Archives.

Calendar postings – not clear, need to be clear on when, where and who to contact, attach it to chapter.

Need more photos for photo gallery to show activity of members and chapters

Course Ops: Chris on behalf of Helen Research continues and practice evolves regarding the

use of the long back board for the Translation into Practice (TIP): Long backboard use for spinal motion

restriction. The TIP is attached. Answer keys to the TNCC provider course practice tests

have been added to the pre-course modules area of the ENA website, and can be accessed by clicking on the tools icon in the training bar menu.

Newly designed provider course certificates, with contact hours pre-populated, are being shipped in your course materials packets. The instructor course certificates are also newly designed, but do not yet have pre-populated contact hours. Once the new TNCC-I is launched, contact hours will be pre-populated.

o Please remember that in accordance with the ANCC, contact hours for TNCC courses can’t be pro-rated, please contact [email protected].

o Sharon reports: TNCC-I and ENPC-I revisions completed and submitted to National for formatting and administrative procedures have been updated and were supposed to come out in Spring

The Instructor Course micro teaches slides have been separated into individual power-point presentations for easier assignment by faculty. Look for these on the Course Directors only section of the website.

MOENA has 145 TNCC Provide/Instructor courses scheduled for 2016. Thanks to all Course Directors and Instructors for continuing to make this such a strong program throughout Missouri

Joan reports as an ATCN Instructor – in the administrative procedures: only hospitals and institutions will be approved to conduct courses, partially due to the requirement of partnering with an ATLS course (capabilities for outlying hospitals without ATLS to conduct course). However, there are several individual courses being conducted by individuals as businesses.

o Discussion regarding MOENA administrative procedures include that ENA will only approve courses for hospitals and institutions

Faculty Status update by Kansas City:o Met with Midwest Trauma Society and in the

process of changing over TNCC operations.o Multiple courses planned in addition to the rural

course already planned for fall.o Noreen has fulfilled requirements for TNCC state

facultyo Angie still working on faculty requirementso Next step is to get instructor courses up and

Noreen and Angie need to contact Course Ops and let them know that the transition is complete in order to be officially appointed as state faculty.

going State Faculty requirements being reviewed:

o A list of faculty is available and Noreen and Angie will be added once the transition is completed. Lori and Cheryl will be removed from State Faculty

Education: David on behalf of Chandra Budget presented, slightly over budget at this time,

although several speakers are speaking in-kind.o Increase in vendor participation will help balance

budget and result in profitable conference Discussion regarding conference cost – see minutes from

May 13 meeting for proposed conference fees details:o Day 1 Only - $95 (ENA Member), $115 (non-

member)o Full Conference - $115 (ENA), $145 (non-

member)o Registration after August 1st - $20 increaseo Registrations cancelled before July 27th will

receive refund of registration less $15 cancellation fee.
