CARS CARS The parking lot at MAHS with the great cars of the mid to late 60's. We had convertibles, bugs, Chevelle, Camaros, GTO, Mustang, MG, Triumph, fast Fords and a very fast station wagon. We all are glad our cars can't talk.

After MAHS I went to Virginia Tech on a golf scholarship and got my BS in Business Administration.

In the early 70's I played on four Carolinas Golf Association teams and in 1972 I won the North Carolina Amateur Championship. I played in six national championships, three as an amateur and three as a professional. After my playing days I have been the owner of a golf course and a golf teaching center and have given over a thousand lessons.

My family and I have given back to Mt. Airy. My sisters and I gave my father's Andy Griffith collection to Surry Arts and it is on display at the Andy Griffith Museum.This year my family started the Surry County Junior Golf Championship for both girls and boys of Surry County, we had a great first year and look forward to many more.

I have a great wife, Jeanne, and daughter Bonny and her children Caroline and James.
