Ms. Walsh First Class Week 4 (April 20 th – 24th) Hello everyone, I hope you are all keeping well and safe, and enjoying the lovely, fine weather when you can. We are all missing having fun and learning in the classroom, so I hope the boys are keeping well also. Below is some work to keep the boys busy this coming week. There is a day-to-day guide on what could be done each day to spread it out keeping it more like a daily timetable but use it to your discretion. All I ask with this work is to do what you can. It is to keep the heads working and thinking. Any answers can be written in the book, if the child has it at home, or in a copy if you don’t have access to a printer. I also encourage them to continue reading, independently and daily for 30-60 minutes each day and to practise their lovely handwriting. As regards Gaeilge, the two activities I have chosen are ones that they boys are used it. Firstly, Chuala (I heard, pronounced ‘hula’) is all the things they can here. Chuala mé madra (I heard a dog), etc. They can incorporate this into everyday conversations. Secondly, Feicim le mo shúilin (Irish version of Eye Spy) something that begins with P. This can be a game that is played just by sitting down outside or inside. Even if it is half English, half Irish they are still incorporating the phrase e.g Feicim le mo shúilin rud a thosaíonn le B (bee). Answers to the worksheets will be written in a separate page under the work.

For SESE, we are finishing off the theme of Spring. Activities below are based on recycling, measuring rainfall, and taking note of Spring all around us.

If there are any enquires or questions about work, feel free to get onto the school or myself about it. I am here to help always!

Mind yourselves and keep safe,

Ms. Walsh

Other great sites for some fun activities are GoNoodle and each morning Joe Wicks (The Body Coach) is doing a live P.E. class at 9am. I have been doing themselves every morning and the class are familiar with him as we would have done some of his exercises in class.https://www.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1
