Science – Week 4

This week I’d like you to set up a fair test in an outdoor area. We are going to investigate if insects prefer a certain flower. I’d like you to choose a flower, plant even a weed and study it over a period of 30 mins. I then want you to answer the following questions, What happens? Do any insects arrive? Are they the same insect? Are they different? Which is the most frequent insect?

Following on from this I’d then like you to write an answer to the following:

Why do insects land on flowers and what is the purpose of this?

MFL – My favorite subject now. Time for a vocabulary recap – do you remember Cappuccetto Rosso? The story of Little Red Riding Hood? Of course you do… Read through the vocabulary table to refresh your memory on the words:

History- Today we shall learn about the Suffragettes another group that stemmed from the NUWSS called the Suffragettes who formed the WSPU .

Look at the video from our youtube link to build your initial understanding: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3eGgyD27jg

Now take a look at the power point here: https://prezi.com/22wvfvsoljf4/suffragettes/It summarises the differences between the Suffragists and Suffragettes.

Can you mind map the information from this in your own Suffrage poster/ timeline/ storyboard (you decide how you want to display your work).

Can you summarise in your own words what made the Suffragettes different to the NUWSS? (peaceful/ violent/ passive) – Full paragraphs please.

Art –Some wonderful Monet sketches again this week everyone.Well done to all of you who sent images in.

The Water-Lily Pond 1899Last week you focused on the sketching some initial ideas towards Water-Lily Pond by Monet as shown here.

Now we can begin to think about the colours that are on show in Monet’s image. However, to do this we should really focus on Monet’s actual garden and see what colours are there.

RE - Last week, we looked at Moses parting the Red Sea and leaving a dry path to walk through. This would have been incredible! Following this, the Israelites started their long journey to the promised land but not without challenges on the way. One such challenge came when Moses formed the 10 commandments.Watch this video to find out what happened during this bible story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIk6i62zQ9A Activity- Mind map answers to these question around your own commandment replica like mine below:
