Who can save?

Psalm 3:8, 72:13, Isaiah 33:22-------Salvation belongeth unto the Lord (Jehovah): thy blessing is upon thy people. God is the only one that saves. God is salvation. God has mercy of the poor and will save their lives.

Matthew 1:21, Luke 9:55-56, John 10:7-17, 14:6-7, Acts 4:10-12, Romans 6:23, 1 Corinthians 5:5, Colossians 3:17, 1 Timothy 1:15, 2 Timothy 2:10, 1 John 1:7---------And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. Jesus saves. Jesus saves us from our sins. There is only salvation through the name of Jesus Christ. The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin, and forgives all our sins. Jesus came to save our souls, Jesus is our savior, we are saved through Jesus. Jesus is the door and we are saved by him, Jesus is the good shepherd that does everything for his sheep even give his life for them. Jesus is the ONLY person that can save us and the ONLY way to enter into heaven and to be with God the Father. Jesus is eternal life. Jesus delivered his flesh to Satan, so it could be destroyed so that the spirit may be saved. Everything we do must be done in the name of Jesus, because he is the only one that can save us. Jesus came to the world to save the sinners.

Why do we need to worry about being saved?

Genesis 2:17, 2 Kings 21:1, 2 Chronicles 33:1, Psalm 51:5, Luke 2:41-52, Romans 3:23---- For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. We need to worry about being saved because we are all sinners, we are all sinners since the very beginning when Adam and Eve sinned, we are all sinners since we were formed in our mother’s womb and born into this earth, and we all have to give an account for our sins since the age of 8 years old. Notice that when I reference the age of 8 years old, that does not mean that that is the exact age in which we have to give an account of our sins. This number is only a rough estimate, so we may have an idea and put things into perspective as to at what age we begin to give an account of our sins. I got this number from some references in the Bible, where kings of Israel became kings at a very young age, in 2 Chronicles 34 king Josiah began to reign Jerusalem at the age of 8 years old, in 2 Kings 21:1 king Manasseh began to reign Jerusalem at the age of 12 years old, and we also have the example of Jesus in Luke 2:41-52, on how he began to teach at the age of 12 years old. Based on these examples in the Bible we can have the understanding that at the age of 8 years old is when our minds are able to discern between good and evil, know about heaven and hell, and judge for ourselves (1 Kings 3:3-15). So that is why I am saying that at the age of 8 years old we will have to give an account of our sins, but like I said, it’s only a rough estimate, I am just trying to give you guys an idea, as to at what age God will hold us accountable for our sins, based on the examples found in the Bible .

We are saved by the grace of God and his patience

Ephesians 2:4-9, Romans 1:4-6, 3:20-31, 5:21, 2 Corinthians 8:9, 2 Peter 3:8-12, 15-----For by grace (favor, gift) are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. And account that the longsuffering (patience) of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you. We are saved by the grace of God and his patience and our faith in God. Grace is a gift of God to us. It is an act of kindness towards us, so we may be saved from eternal torment in the lake of fire. We are not justified by the deeds (works) of the law, because by the law is the knowledge of sin, but now besides the law, the righteousness (justice) of God has been manifested through the faith in Jesus Christ, for all that believe in him, for we all have sinned, and we are justified freely by God’s grace through the redemption that is in Jesus Christ. Grace reigns to give us eternal life. Jesus gives us grace to be saved.

We are saved by believing in Jesus Christ

Mark 16:15-18, John 3:16, 36, 20:30-31, Acts 16:29-31, Romans 10:9-10, 1 Corinthians 1:21-23, Philippians 1:29, 1 Peter 1:6-9, 1 John 3:22-24--------And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. We are saved by believing in Jesus Christ. The word of God was written so we may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing in him we may have life through his name. Believing in the preaching of the gospel of Christ crucified saves us.

We are saved by having faith in Jesus Christ and his blood

Zechariah 9:9-11, Matthew 9:22, Luke 7:50, 8:47-48, Romans 1:4-6, 17, 3:20-31, 2 Corinthians 5:7, Hebrews 11:1, James 2:14, 17, 24, 1 Peter 1:6-9----------Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference. Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God. Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. We are saved by having faith in Jesus Christ and his blood. We must have faith in Jesus and at the end of our faith our souls will be saved. (Faith = to believe in someone or something spiritually rather than proof, in other words we cannot see that someone with our own natural eyes, but we still believe, faith is a spiritual thing, faith is something we hope for, things not seen)

We are saved by departing from our sins and converting from our evil ways to God

Ezekiel 18:31-32, 33:11---------Cast away from you all your transgressions (sins), whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord God: wherefore turn (convert) yourselves, and live ye. Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel? We are saved by departing (separating) from our sins and converting from our evil ways to God.

We are saved by confessing and repenting of our sins

Matthew 9:13, Acts 2:38, 2 Corinthians 7:9-10, 1 John 1:7-10---------For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We are saved by confessing and repenting of our sins. Jesus came to call sinners to repentance. We must confess our sins for Jesus to forgive us, because if do not confess our sins, then we make Jesus a liar, if we say we have not sinned, and Jesus is not a liar. We must repent of our sins to be saved.

We are saved by being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ

Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15-18, Acts 2:38--------He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. We are saved by being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Jesus calls us to be baptized in his name. (Other scriptures that backup this fact are Acts 8:12-16, 10:47-48, 19:4-5, Romans 6:3-5, Galatians 3:26-27)

We are saved by being hated of all men for the sake of the name of Jesus Christ

Matthew 10:22, 1 John 3:13--------And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved. We are saved by being hated of all men for the sake of the name of Jesus Christ. We must endure hatred of all men until the end and we will be saved. Let us not be surprised if the world hates us for the name of Jesus, because they will hate us.

We are saved by denying ourselves and taking up our cross and following Jesus Christ

Matthew 16:24-28, 19:29, Mark 8:34-35, Luke 9:23-27--------Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. We are saved by denying ourselves, taking up our cross, and following Jesus. To be saved we must lose our lives here on earth, meaning we must renounce (give up) the desires of the flesh and live day by day in the spirit doing the will of God. To be saved and to have eternal life we must be willing to leave everything behind for the name of Jesus and the gospel, houses, brothers, sisters, mother, father, children, wife, etc., anything that will stop us from serving God.

We are saved by having patience and waiting in the salvation of God

Isaiah 25:9, Luke 21:19-------And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation. In your patience possess ye your souls. We are saved by having patience and waiting in the salvation of God. With our patience we will save our souls, meaning that with our patience waiting on Jesus we will be saved.

We are saved by calling on the name of God

Psalm 145:18-19, Joel 2:32, Acts 2:16-21--------And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call. We are saved by calling on the name of God. This verse is referring to those people in the last days, those who decide to repent and call on the name of God to be saved. (The last days began when Jesus resurrected from the dead and ascended to heaven to sit at the right hand of God 1 John 2:18, Mark 16:19, Luke 22:69, Acts 7:55-56, Romans 8:34, Ephesians 1:20, Colossians 3:1). All of this means, that people call on his name and reject everything of this world, including the Antichrist and the mark of the beast. This is one of the things we must do to be saved, it is not just calling on his name. This verse does not only mean that all we must do is call on the name of God and that is it, it is not like that, we need to do much more to be saved, we need to do everything listed in this lesson and in the Bible, or else, all these scriptures listed in this lesson would not be in the Bible and would be a lie, and that is not so. This verse is also for all of us nowadays, for all of us that have the opportunity to call on the name of God and to receive him in our hearts to be saved. That being said, whenever we call on the name of God, we must call on his name in truth.

We are saved by going through tribulations (afflictions, troubles, problems, sufferings)

Matthew 24:3-51, 2 Corinthians 1:3-6, Philippians 1:29, 1 Peter 1:6-9-------And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation. We are saved by going through tribulations. We must suffer for the cause of Jesus and suffer the same afflictions that Jesus suffered. The reason of the tribulations is to be comforted and to be saved, and by suffering these tribulations, comfort and salvation comes. Salvation and comfort operate in the midst of suffering. But he that will endure until the end, will be saved.

We are saved by sowing (planting) to the Spirit

Galatians 6:7-10---------Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. We are saved by sowing to the Spirit. If we sow to the Spirit, we will reap (harvest) eternal life. Meaning, that everything we do has consequences, we have to do good spiritual things to be saved and have eternal life, but if we do fleshly things, we will not harvest anything good, only bad things will come, we will harvest corruption and death.

We are saved by persisting (continuing) in the doctrine of Jesus Christ

1 Timothy 4:16--------Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. We are saved by persisting in the doctrine of Jesus Christ. We need to be careful with ourselves and with the doctrine of Jesus, we need to continue and persist in it. We need to cherish and persist in the doctrine of Jesus and we will be saved.

We are saved by receiving and obeying the word of God

2 Thessalonians 2:10-12, 2 Timothy 3:15, James 1:21-27----------Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. We are saved by receiving and obeying the word of God. We need to receive and obey (do) the word of God, not just hear it, we need to do what the word of God says. The word of God makes us wise and saves us through the faith in Jesus Christ.

We are saved by being meek (submissive, obedient, humble)

Psalm 76:9, 149:3-4------When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. We are saved by being meek. We need to be humble to be saved. God will not save a proud person. We must be humble in the way that we are.

We are saved by keeping (obeying, following) the commandments of God

Matthew 19:16-19, 1 John 3:22-24---------And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. We are saved by keeping the commandments of God. To be saved and to have eternal life we must follow the commandments of God.

We are saved by fearing (respecting, obeying) God

Psalm 145:18-19------The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them. We are saved by fearing God. We need to fear God to be saved. Meaning, that we must respect and obey God and keep him in mind in everything we do, fearing that if we do something wrong, he will see us and punish us, and cast us in hell if we do not respect and obey him. (In Genesis 22:10-12, 18, it tells us what it means to fear God; to fear God according to the scriptures is to obey his voice, his word, what God says).

We are saved by living a life in holiness

Hebrews 12:14, 1 Peter 1:15-16-------Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord. We are saved by living a life in holiness. Meaning, that we must live a life separated from all the evil of the world, and live in holiness according to the word of God.

What must we do once we are saved?

Philippians 2:12-13, Hebrews 2:3----------Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him. Once we are saved we must work out our salvation with fear and trembling every day and not neglect (fail to look after, abandon, ignore, fail to care for, forsake, forget, disregard, not attend to) our so great salvation. Meaning to take our salvation very seriously and making sure we obey the word of God in everything we do and to not be lukewarm and to stay busy in our salvation, so we do not back slide into the world and lose our salvation. We need to focus in our own salvation first, before we can focus in the salvation of others, because how can we help others to be saved, if we are not saved ourselves to begin with?

How many people are truly saved?

Genesis 7:13, 8:16, 18, 19:15-26, Matthew 22:14, Luke 13:23-24, 1 Peter 3:20-------Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, Strive (make a great effort) to enter in at the strait (narrow) gate (door): for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. Few people are truly saved. Jesus wants us to make a great effort to enter into heaven through the narrow door, because there are few who are saved and go to heaven. In the book of Zechariah 13:8-9, it makes us understand how much few means. Almost 84% of people are lost and only 16% are truly saved. (These are not exact numbers, they are only a rough estimate so we may have an idea and put things into perspective as to what few is referring to). This is so true, the majority of humanity will be lost, and will go to hell because nobody wants to obey the word of God and serve God, everyone wants the best of both worlds, they want to have one foot in the church and one foot in the world, they want to be half saint and half demon. It cannot be so, if we are playing those games, we are not going to be saved, we must give God 100% of our lives and serve him in spirit and in truth every day of our lives, living in holiness, staying away from the world and sin. We can see through the history of humanity, that since the beginning of time, few have always been saved. In the flood in the days of Noah, only 8 people were saved, of who knows how many thousands or millions of people. In the days of Lot, only 3 people were saved, of who knows how many thousands or millions of people. Even Christ himself says in Matthew 7:21-23, "Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven." And if we think about it, how many people nowadays do we see obeying the word of God and doing the will of God? The answer is simple, few, therefore, the word of God is faithful and true to say that there are few who are truly saved nowadays. That being said, the few who are saved nowadays, are saved by the sheer (pure) mercy of God because he will shorten the days, so few can be saved, as it says in Matthew 24:22, "And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened." That is why we must examine ourselves and repent of our sins and obey the word of God, so we can be part of the few who are truly saved.

What kinds of people God cannot save?

Luke 18:9-14----------And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. God cannot save people who justify themselves (self-righteous).

Mark 16:16, John 12:37-------------He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him (Jesus). God cannot save people who do not believe in his Son Jesus Christ.

Page 8: mgisministry.com · Web viewis salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you. We are saved by the grace of God and

8

John 5:39---------Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. God cannot save people who seek other ways to be saved outside of the Bible.

Matthew 23:13---------But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in. God cannot save people who are hypocrites (pretenders, actors).

Matthew 12:31-32---------Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come. God cannot save people who blaspheme (speak profanity, irreverence, swearing, cursing, slander, attribute the works of the Holy Spirit to Satan (Matthew 12:22-32, Mark 3:20-30, Luke 11:14-23)) against the Holy Spirit.

Luke 16:19-31, Hebrews 9:27----------And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. God cannot save people who die without Jesus Christ.

1 Timothy 4:1, Hebrews 10:26-31, 2 Peter 2:20-----------For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? God cannot save people who are apostates (backsliders) (people who deny the doctrine of Jesus Christ and sin wilfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth). These kinds of people prefer to listen to seducing (deceiving) spirits and doctrines of demons, without realizing that they are being led straight to hell.

Here is an illustration on how we are saved. This is the full picture of God’s plan of salvation according to the scriptures. Our salvation is a race that we need to finish, in order to obtain our reward, which is the salvation of our soul. It is going to be a battle and a race with a lot of obstacles that we are going to have to face and fight our way through. If we do not finish our race, because we run into obstacles, we will not be saved, as it says in Hebrews 12:15-17. Such obstacles may include bitterness, fornication, and any other small things. God has already done the heavy lifting, we have to do the light weight lifting now. God has given us a head start by doing his part, now it is up to us to do our part to finish it, because we only receive the salvation of our souls if we finish our race, at the end of our race, meaning at the time of our death or at the time of the second coming of Christ.

The Secret Key To Be Saved

Matthew 24:13

But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Endurance/Perseverance

The power of tolerating an unpleasant or difficult process or situation without giving away.

The ability to last.

The capacity to last or to withstand wear and tear.

Persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.
