Vice President

My name is Hunter Jensen and I want to run for the Vice President position of the chapter. I am a junior ChemE student and have been actively involved with Lamar University's AIChE chapter my whole time at Lamar. I have worked on ChemE Car for the past two years, where I was part of the first team in Lamar's history to qualify for the nationals competition. This past year I have served as the ChemE Car director, where I led a team that built a car that runs off of aluminum-air batteries. I am also involved with High School Outreach, and plan to be involved with the new Sustainability Committee as well. I want to continue to strive for success, bring that effort into the AIChE chapter, and uphold the chapter's mission of developing professional skills and being involved with the community.

Secretary

Hi everyone, my name is Rose Alincastre. I’ve been an active member of AIChE for the past three years. I started as a volunteer chair, then I became the events coordinator. I planned the socials throughout the school year with the help/support of the other officers. I would like to run for the Secretary position for the upcoming school year, so that I can expand my leadership experience and help deliver information that will benefit you. I would be fit for the position because I am very organized, approachable, and I get things done (planning the socials helped me with that). I also have a lot of goals for the next school year, one of which is creating an online Lamar AIChE merch store. As the secretary, I will work closely with the other officers to ensure that the members feel welcome and that any concerns or ideas you have are heard.

Treasurer

Hey everyone! My name is Sony Tran and I am going to run as the treasurer for the school year of 2020-2021. I believe I am qualified to run for the position as I have the necessary experience in managing the task dealt by the treasurer including keeping track of receipts, managing our bank account, and keeping track of t-shirt orders. I’m excited to see what we have in store next year!

Hello, I'm Gregory, and I'd like to run for Treasurer. I haven't done any large positions for AIChE, and so when looking at all the role descriptions, I found that this was something I genuinely wanted to do. I'm not a stranger to transactions, accounting, or getting quotes and I have taken a finance class over at Lamar (besides engineering economics, which I hear isn't even a prereq. anymore). So if you think you can work with me, I'd like to be able to work with you.

Event Coordinator

My name is Jessica Muñoz and I am running for Events Coordinator. I have been with AIChE since 2017 when I got to LU. In my years here, I’ve attended regionals since 2018, competed in Regionals Chem-E-Car at TTU, competed in Nationals in Orlando, and was part of the Regional Conference committee planning our turn of hosting. Apart from those events, I’ve attended plant tours, social events, Info-Sessions, and lastly our meetings. I believe my past experiences in the organization will provide a great deal of support for the future as event coordinator. I am extremely excited and eager to work and set up great events for our members if given the opportunity. I would really like to provide socials and events to continue to grow as an organization and to further cement our bonds as members for the upcoming year and hopefully take part in making memories and new lasting friendships. Public Relations

Hello my name is Arturo Gonzalez! I would like to run for the public relations position!I am 21 years old and I am from Beaumont,Texas. I am majoring in chemical engineering with a pre-med concentration. I speak two languages being Spanish and English. I have two sisters one in high school and one in grade school. My mom and dad are in the retail industry. Being in Aiche it has allowed me to volunteer in the animal shelter and food bank ranging from walking dogs to making food boxes for families. I am running for the Public relations position because I want to get more involved within the organization and see what we can accomplish as a team.

My name is Muhammad Balal Shahzad, I am currently a Sophomore studying Chemical Engineering. I choose Chemical Engineering, not just because I enjoy applying mathematics and science to the real world, but because I wanted to also improve my technical/personal skills such as critical thinking, leadership, and problem solving; and this degree is perfect for those goals and future plans. I would like to nominate myself for Public relation position, because when I was a freshman I was introduced to AIChE through many of the members and the flyers that were posted around campus. Joining AIChE allowed me to experience many roles such as being the project manager of ChemE car to being an active Member of this organization. Therefore I would like to help in attracting/educating the public and students of  LU about AIChE and Chemical Engineering. I would like to see new members join this organization(especially freshman), where they are able to have a comfortable setting to build friendships/relationships with like-minded individuals in which they will be able to a fun time while still being able to accomplish their goals successfully. Hello everyone, my name is Wesley Lewis and I intend on running for the Public Relations position. From serving as High School Outreach Coordinator, I made it my goal this past year to really gather attention on AIChE and chemical engineering at Lamar. This will be advantageous for me in Public Relations because I plan to continue to build the chapter as well as market AIChE to possible members. Also, while participating in high school outreaches, I have been able to garner experience that will better aide me when I present to these potential members. Furthermore, I believe that I possess great communication skills which will be vital when it comes to contacting whoever our chapter needs to communicate with. Overall, I plan to dedicate my time and efforts into making AIChE and even better chapter during my time here.

My names Luis Giner, I am a Junior/Senior Chem-E major. I am from Port Neches, Tx and I am currently in Utah co-opping with Kimberly Clark Corp. I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, fishing, and grilling.

I think I would be a good fit for the public relations chair, due to having prior experience with other student organizations such as SHPE and the Knight of Columbus. My prior experience will help me excel in this position.

My name is Jazmine Obregon and i’m a junior chemical engineering major with math and chem minor. I’m 20 years old and from the southeast Texas area.

I’m running for this position because I believe I’d be a great candidate for the position. I’m from the area, born and raised, and well connected with organizations throughout surrounding cities such as mid-county (Nederland, Port Neches-Groves, and Port Arthur) to Orange and Bridge City all the way to Houston/Dallas and even Galveston. I believe this position would be great for me because I am an easy going person and very extroverted, which will help me in reaching out to people and help our own organization. I’m very passionate about helping out our own community, we’ve been through so much, and I feel like this would be a good way to help a little bit. Connect and help one another out. I would be delighted and honored to represent our organization and utilize my own connections, while making new, to enhance ourselves.
