1. Think back to the four types of settlements we learned about earlier in the year: City, Town, Farm and Village.

a) What settlement do you think picture A would be in?

b) What settlement do you think picture B would be in?

2. How does each family get their water?

A: They get water from the taps in their house.

B: They have to collect water in buckets and bottles.

3. How does each family light up their house when it gets dark?

A: They have electricity so they switch lights on.

B: They use a paraffin lamp – They burn paraffin for light.

4. Explain how and from where each of the families get their food.

A: They get their food from the shop. They buy their food.

B: They plant and grow their own food. They do not get it at a shop.
