Technology Tasks

Picture Tools

1) Add an image to your PowerPoint.2) Click Format (under Picture Tools).

In the Adjust category

Under Color: You can remove the white background from an image by clicking Set Transparent Color.

Under Color: You can change the color of the image by clicking on any of the possibilities in Saturation, Tone, or Recolor.

Under Artistic Effects: You can change the effect on the image by clicking on any of the possibilities.

In the Picture Styles category

You can change the edges of the picture by clicking on the possibilities and you can add color to the border by clicking on Picture Border.

Under Picture Effects: You can change the look of the image.

In the Arrange category

Under Rotate: You can rotate the image.

Bring Forward/Send Backward: Can be used if you have text on the screen as well. You can overlap the image and text.

Filling a shape with an image

1) Save a picture to your account. You may want to create a folder to keep your images in.2) Click Insert on the toolbar.3) Click Shapes and choose a shape.4) Under Format (under Drawing Tools), find the Shape Styles category. Click Shape Fill.5) Click Picture. Insert the picture from your account.

Convert to SmartArt

1) Put text in your slide.2) Highlight the text. From the Home tab in the Paragraph category, click

Convert to SmartArt and choose the type of SmartArt you want.

Insert SmartArt and then text/images

1) Click Insert from the toolbar and then SmartArt. 2) Choose the type of SmartArt you want and then add in information and/or

pictures.
