Lesson 3 Helmet of Hope

1. From the following scriptures make your own declaration of who you are in Christ.

A. (Colossians 2:10). I am _________________________________________________

Colossians 2:10 (AMP) 10 And you are in Him, made full and having come to fullness of life [in 

Christ you too are filled with the Godhead—Father, Son and Holy Spirit—and reach full spiritual 

stature]. And He is the Head of all rule and authority [of every angelic principality and power].

Ephesians 2:5 (AMP) 5 Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and

 Romans 8:37

     The phrase “More than Conquerors” in the Greek is “hupernikao” and means “to conquer, to carry off to victory, to come off victorious.” However,  the word “huper” attached to “nikao,” means “above” thus, “to come off more than Victorious, to gain a surprising Victory.”  

“I am more than a conqueror through him that loves me.” 

HOPE

(His favor and mercy which you did not deserve) that you are saved (delivered from judgment 

and made partakers of Christ's salvation). 

C. (Romans 8:2). I am __________________________________________________

Romans 8:2 (AMP) 2 For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new 

being] has freed me from the law of sin and of death.

Isaiah 54:14 (AMP) 14 You shall establish yourself in righteousness (rightness, in conformity with 

God's will and order): you shall be far from even the thought of oppression or destruction, for 

you shall not fear, and from terror, for it shall not come near you.

1 John 5:18 (AMP) 18 We know [absolutely] that anyone born of God does not [deliberately and 

knowingly] practice committing sin, but the One Who was begotten of God carefully watches 

over and protects him [Christ's divine presence within him preserves him against the evil], and 

the wicked one does not lay hold (get a grip) on him or touch [him]. 

F. (Ephesians 1:4; 1 Peter 1:16). I am ______________________________________

Ephesians 1:4 (AMP) 4 Even as [in His love] He chose us [actually picked us out for Himself as His 

own] in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy (consecrated and set 

apart for Him) and blameless in His sight, even above reproach, before Him in love.

G. (1 Corinthians 2:16; Philippians 2:5). I have ______________________________

1 Corinthians 2:16 (AMP) 16 For who has known or understood the mind (the counsels and 

purposes) of the Lord so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge? But we have the 

mind of Christ (the Messiah) and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart.

Philippians 2:5 (AMP) 5 Let this same attitude and purpose and [humble] mind be in you which 

was in Christ Jesus: [Let Him be your example in humility:] 

H. (Philippians 4:7). I have ________________________________________________

Philippians 4:7 (AMP) 7 And God's peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of 

its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly 

lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and 

mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

defeated and overcome them [the agents of the antichrist], because He Who lives in you is 

greater (mightier) than he who is in the world.

Romans 5:17 (AMP) 17 For if because of one man's trespass (lapse, offense) death reigned 

through that one, much more surely will those who receive [God's] overflowing grace 

(unmerited favor) and the free gift of righteousness [putting them into right standing with 

Himself] reign as kings in life through the one-Man Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed 

One). 

K. (Ephesians 1:17-18). I have __________________________________________

Ephesians 1:17-18 (AMP) 17  [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of 

glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and 

secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him, 18  By having the eyes of your heart 

flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, 

and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones), 

L. (Mark 16:17-18; Luke 10:17-19). I have ____________________________________

Mark 16:17-18 (AMP) 17 And these attesting signs will accompany those who believe: in My name, they will drive out 

demons; they will speak in new languages; 18 They will pick up serpents; and [even] if they drink 

anything deadly, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will get 

well. 

Luke 10:17-19 (AMP) 17 The seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name! 18 And He said to them, I saw Satan falling like a lightning [flash] from heaven. 19 Behold! I have 

given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and 

mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in 

any way harm you.

M. (Colossians 3:9-10). I have __________________________________________

Colossians 3:9-10 (AMP) 9 Do not lie to one another, for you have stripped off the old 

(unregenerate) self with its evil practices, 10 And have clothed yourselves with the new [spiritual 

self-], which is [ever in the process of being] renewed and remolded into [fuller and more 

perfect knowledge upon] knowledge after the image (the likeness) of Him Who created it. 

N.   (Luke 6:38). I have ________________________________________________

Luke 6:38 (AMP) 38 Give, and [gifts] will be given to you; good measure, pressed down, shaken 

together, and running over, will they pour into [the pouch formed by] the bosom [of your robe 

and used as a bag]. For with the measure you deal out [with the measure you use when you 

confer benefits on others], it will be measured back to you. 

O. (Philippians 4:19). I have ________________________________________________

Philippians 4:19 (AMP) 19 And my God will liberally supply (fill to the full) your every need 

according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. 

P. (Ephesians 6:16). I can ___________________________________________________

Ephesians 6:16 (AMP) 16 Lift up over all the [covering] shield of saving faith, upon which you can 

quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked [one]. 

Q. (Philippians 4:13). I can _________________________________________________

Philippians 4:13 (AMP) 13 I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready 

for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-

sufficient in Christ's sufficiency]. 

R. (1 Peter 2:9). I show forth ___________________________________________

1 Peter 2:9 (AMP) 9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a dedicated nation, [God's] 

own purchased, special people, that you may set forth the wonderful deeds and display the 

virtues and perfections of Him Who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. 

S. (1 Peter 1:23). I am __________________________________________________

1 Peter 1:23 (AMP) 23 You have been regenerated (born again), not from a mortal origin (seed, 

sperm), but from one that is immortal by the ever living and lasting Word of God. 

T. (Ephesians 2:10). I am _________________________________________________

Ephesians 2:10 (AMP) 10 For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in 

Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned 

beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in 

them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]. 

U. (2 Corinthians 5:17).   I am _______________________________________________

2 Corinthians 5:17 (AMP) 17 Therefore if any person is [engrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a 

new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has 

passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!

V. (Romans 6:11;1 Thessalonians 5:23). I am ________________________________

Romans 6:11 (AMP) 11 Even so consider yourselves also dead to sin and your relation to it 

broken, but alive to God [living in unbroken fellowship with Him] in Christ Jesus. 

1 Thessalonians 5:23 (AMP) 23 And may the God of peace Himself sanctify you through and 

through [separate you from profane things, make you pure and wholly consecrated to God]; 

and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved sound and complete [and found] blameless 

at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah). 

W. (2 Corinthians 4:4). I am ____________________________________________

2 Corinthians 4:4 (AMP) 4 For the god of this world has blinded the unbelievers' minds [that 

they should not discern the truth], preventing them from seeing the illuminating light of the 

Gospel of the glory of Christ (the Messiah), Who is the Image and Likeness of God. 

X. (James 1:22, 25). I am __________________________________________________

James 1:22 (AMP) 22 But be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to 

it, betraying yourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth]. 

James 1:25 (AMP) 25 But he who looks carefully into the faultless law, the [law] of liberty, and is 

faithful to it and perseveres in looking into it, being not a heedless listener who forgets but an 

active doer [who obeys], he shall be blessed in his doing (his life of obedience). 

Y. (Romans 8:17). I am __________________________________________________

Romans 8:17 (AMP) 17 And if we are [His] children, then we are [His] heirs also: heirs of God and 

fellow heirs with Christ [sharing His inheritance with Him]; only we must share His suffering if 

we are to share His glory.

 Romans 8:37 (AMP) 37 Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a 

surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.

Helmet of Hope

Another word for confession is testimony. We read in the book of Revelation, “They overcame

him [Satan] by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony” (Revelation 12:11).

     We have acknowledged that we overcome Satan when we testify personally to what the 

Word of God says the blood of Jesus does for us. Testimony is a very simple thing—just saying 

words   that   agree   with   Scripture.   Testimony   saves   us;   it   is   our   protection.   We   cannot 

overemphasize its importance.

      The  writer   of  Hebrews   called   Jesus   the  “High Priest of our confession” (Hebrews  3:1). 

Confession  literally means “saying the same as.” For us, as believers in the Bible and in Jesus 

Christ, confession means saying with our mouths the same thing that God says in His Word. We 

make the words of our mouths agree with the Word of God. Jesus can advocate on our behalf 

only when we make the right confession. Whether we call it “testimony” or “confession,” it is 

indispensable in order for us to receive the salvation of God.

      Jesus   said,  “For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be

condemned” (Matthew 12:37). We settle our destinies by the words that we speak outwardly or 

to ourselves. James said the tongue is like the rudder on a ship; even though it is a small part of 

the ship, it determines exactly where the ship will go. (See James 3:4.) We determine the course 

of our lives by the way in which we use our tongues or how we program our minds.   We can say 

the right thing and make our words agree with the Word of God, or we can say the wrong thing 

and cause our lives to go off course. We will either come safely to harbor or end in shipwreck 

according to how we use our words.
