Fluency Techniques• Echo Reading: Adult reads one

line/part of text. Child repeats using similar phrasing and

expression modeled by the adult.• Refrain Reading: Adult and

child is responsible for reading different parts of the text (similar to taking turns or reading with ABAB pattern).• Choral Reading: Adult and child

reads texts at the same time. This especially supports reading rate.• Close Reading: Adult reads,

then pauses for child to fill in the missing word(s). • Total Tonality: Using different

situations or emotions where you and your child can read a text in different voices.
