Year 3 Home Learning - Week 10 Dear Year 3s Here is a selection of activities for you to complete at home this week. Don’t forget to keep practising your times tables. If you are using Times Table Rock Star make sure you are using the Garage mode. You need to focus on the 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, 8x and 10x but if you can learn the others that would be amazing! How many interesting adjectives can you list about the character’s personality or appearance? Now what might the character be saying or thinking? Can you complete a thought bubble and speech bubble for him? 2. I am an artist A portrait is a piece of art of a person. It focuses on the face of the person and sometimes parts of their shoulders. A self portrait is a type of artwork that an artist produces which represents themselves. Examples of famous artists who completed self portraits include Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt and Monet. There are instruction below about how to draw a portrait. You could do one of yourself or a member of your family. We would love to see them too. 3. I am a mathematician. Every term at school we have a times table challenge. Can you complete the challenge at home using your knowledge of the 2, 3, 4, 5, 8 and 10 times tables. 5. I am an engineer Can you make some delicious shortbread biscuits to share with your family? Send us a photo of the finished product on the year 3 email address above. There is a recipe below. Can you improve the recipe by adding some flavourings such as chocolate drops or lemon zest? Or show your design flare by decorating it imaginatively? If you don’t have a rolling pin just use an empty bottle. You could use a glass to cut out your shortbread if you don’t have a cookie cutter.

If you don’t have the ingredients to make the biscuits can you design your own biscuit decoration.
