We are having these be built in conjunction with Glassford Constructions who combine it with workshops so the buildings are constructed at a fraction of the normal costs.Combine this with the use of recycled products and feature environmentally friendly elements such as Solar Power, Compost Toilets, Grey Water Systems which recycles water to the feature bush, water wise gardens, also use of natural paints and varnishes.From the description of the Bush Camp Function and Activity Centre and Leisure Area following we hope you can picture the layout which the land itself will further dictate when the development begins. The Outback, Bush and Australia have never seen such an ode to Symbiotic Living, Ultimate Adventure and Eco – Agri Tourism before and not before time. INLAND BEACH AND NATURAL POOL, SPA, CAFÉ AND ACTIVITY CENTREWe are going to feature the first of its kind in a Bush Eco Tourism Venture and that is an Inland Beach with undercover gazebo areas such as pictured below. This will be alongside a Natural Pool which we have had experience creating in the United States. The Natural Pool will be approximately 600m x 400m in size.

Sand will be brought in by Trucks to form a beach area and the Natural Pool and inland beach which will be adjacent to the Café and Restaurant Aspect of the Main Building and close by to the Eco Accommodation. There will be water based activities like kayaking, peddle bikes, small catamarans, float chairs and mats and waterpolo and similar elements and beach volleyball and badminton.The facility will feature other adventure equipment such as Segways – upright mobile fun machines, rollerblades and plenty of room and plains to hike and stroll, paint a landscape or read a book.Sleeping situations that are surreal that we’ve included are sleeping in a Bio Swag on a purpose built platform under the stars and Jungle Hammocks strung between trees for those little avatars that accompany adults, all supervised.

The facility will be a fully sustainable set up with recycling and permaculture.

An Outback Oasis in all ways for those Outback OutingsThe Outback Oasis - Day Health Spa for day visitors and general Health Spa for visitors staying over will be a sensational feature with the latest treatments and therapies available. There will also be a medium size gymnasium with pilates equipment, general weights and gym machines for everyones use.Within the Main Building will be a Function Room for all manner of celebrations and conferences including Weddings, birthday parties and even Camping/Caravan Clubs of large numbers hiring the facility for their stay as an extended recreation area.General Wellness, detox / spring clean, weight loss and muscle building natural style with specialist therapist hired to provide a first class service and optimum health and preventative health focusses.Encouragement of people flying to the facility by way of a Charter Flight Service to the nearest airport and a courtesy pick up bus and trailer.We aim to work in with a local helicopter charter company to provide a scenic flights service which can encompass Carnarvon Gorge Area.

FORECASTED TOURISM AND ENTERPRISE ELEMENTSThe forecast such an Enterprise are as follows, based upon the venture being open 310 days per year, closed for staff holidays and maintenance). The Target Markets are predominantly young to middle aged adults and families with approximately 33% being Grey Nomads, elder locals and foreign tourists.

It is forecasted that potential clients will be between 20 and 35 people camping per day with their own temporary accommodation.

Between 10 – 25 people staying for periods of 1 night up to 3 weeks staying in the Eco Bush Camp provided Accommodation of various styles.

We plan to attract an additional 30 – 60 temporary visitors per day with their own 4wd vehicles enjoying the 4WD courses and tracks who are also able to take part in relaxing and adventure type activities.

Nature refuge park fees and takings from sales of tourist products.

Earnings from the Accommodation – the Eco Cabins and Eco Tents and day use of Camp Kitchen and Amenities Block.

Holding 2 festivals and 3 x 4WD Bush Rallies and organized Gatherings of Caravan / Camping and Special Interest Clubs for weekends, holidays and long weekends and mid week stays.

Many of them are already on the road with Carnarvon Gorge, local national parks, local town visits and other planned or spontaneous visits on their agenda so our Outback Oasis and thrilling activities are an amazing drawcard to them and an ultimate compliment to the natural surrounding and an asset to local towns and economies with job possibilities available for locals which include training courses.

In the advanced marketing campaign and specialized leisure interests intended for the first and consecutive years with the Health Spa being a World Class Facility there will be a highlight of 12 Health Retreat Camps which will be from 10 – 14 days in duration, held once a month.

General Wellness, detox / spring clean, weight loss and muscle building natural style with specialist therapist hired to provide a first class service and optimum health and preventative health focusses.

Luxury Swag Camp: Blue Mouintains

A Safari Luxury Swag Camp ideal model for Eco Tourism with very basic infrastructure yet the ultimate bush experience to.

There is no electricity, all water is filtered, all waste is removed from site and no fixed structures for minimal impact.

The camp is built with raised timber 'swag' decks, with swag bedrolls, soft pillows and duvets for added comfort and a canopy overhead which you can roll back to see the stars.

Pacha Design, a design and make partnership based in the UK, do just that! They specialise in creating simple pieces of modern furniture from waste timber and natural materials sourced from local shipyards, skips, farms and storm damage.

This rustic table and bench set are made from a mixture of recycled oak finished with a hard wax oil and cornish slate for the seat.

Wind-felled Salvaged Timber FurnitureFirstly, the beauty in Jonathan fields work is that each piece of furniture is made from wind-felled salvage timber and inspired by the grain and cut of the timber. With each piece of timber being hand selected and designed around the shrinkage cracks, burrs and line of the grain for the right look and minimal wastage. With this in mind each piece tells a unique story and celebrates the age and history of the tree.

Old Boat FurnitureThis company aptly named Old Boat Furniture supply furniture to any design and colour combination, recycling timber furniture from no longer seaworthy fishing boats sourced from around South East Asia.

Each piece is slightly different thus making a new unique piece of furniture with both character and history.

Rated as one of the top ten camping spots in south-east Queensland, the park has grassed, shady camping areas beside the creeks where you can relax around the campfire and enjoy the peace and quiet of the Australian bush.

Fees and ConditionsLandcruiser Mountain Park is 2 hours from Brisbane via Kilcoy, 16km past Jimna Foresty, on the Kilcoy - Murgon Road. (Turn onto Diaper Road)The Park should be regarded as a wilderness area in every sense.Facilities are basic. Nearest major township is Kilcoy 60kms away so it is important to bring everything you will need, including sufficient fuel, first aid kit, axe, shovel and tow rope.   No Fuel, Gas Refills or Smokes available at the Park or Jimna Forestry. Motorcycles are NOT permitted.  Qld Road Rules apply throughout the park, all vehicles must be road registered. Firearms and archery are not permitted and removal of flora and fauna is prohibited.Vehicle Access: 4WD and 2WD vehicles can access all the main camping areas with trailers and campervans.2wd maybe restricted to some camping areas depending on weather conditions.On Arrival: Please drive to the office to collect your permit for the park. The office is adjacent to the entry road, 6 kms off the main Kilcoy-Murgon Road. Office hours 7am - 9pm Friday & Saturday,  7am - 5pm Sunday to Thursday. Eftpos available.Sign Out on Departure: It is a requirement of entry that you sign out at the park office on departure.Drinking Water: Visitors are advised to bring drinking water.Supplies:  The Park office carries drinks, ice, milk, bread, drinks etc . Other basic supplies can be replenished from Kilcoy 60 kms away.            A Public Phone is located at the office.Camping: You may camp anywhere on the property as it is a wilderness camping area.Hot showers and septic toilets are provided at Cowah Falls, Trakka Terrace, The Gums and Fig Tree camping areas. There is ample firewood available throughout the Park. Please be careful with camp fires and ensure that fires are out when leaving the camp site. Do not put glass or tins in the fireplaces

Pets are allowed but must be kept under control to avoid disturbing other campers, cattle or wildlife.Generators can be used but in the main camping areas there is a no noise limit after 10.30pm at night.Make sure food is securely stored at night and while you are away from your campsite as the wildlife can create havoc if not properly stored.PARK FEES FROM 1ST JANUARY 2013 (payment required on arrival). Merna Mora Station - four wheel drive actionAs we started the first major descent on the Wowee Track I heard my daughter groan, “Oh nooo”. We’d been bush before but I’d never taken her serious four wheel driving and I’d forgotten how scary it can be. I also didn’t realise she was holding her breath until we reached the bottom and she gasped for air. Good thing it wasn’t a bigger hill.

Merna Mora is one of several pastoral stations in the Flinders Ranges that have opened up 4wd tracks to experienced offroaders, on a user pays basis. This is a great way to test your driving skills, see some stunning scenery and terrify family and friends.

Of the tracks on the property, the Wowee Track is probably the most challenging, with its extreme ups and downs, while the Bunbinyunna Track takes you to a another world.

Truth be known I’m not a keen four wheel driver unless there’s something to see, and this is an absolutely breathtaking drive – in more ways than one.

It starts at the Moralana Scenic Route and then seems intent on scaling the western wall of Wilpena Pound. We plunged deep into the Ranges and as the escarpment loomed ahead, I wondered if we’d soon be joining the hikers inside the Pound.  

After one particularly long, steep climb, affectionately referred to on the track notes as, “there’s no turning back past this point”, the terrain became slightly less extreme and we resumed breathing normally.  

We continued to roll through the hills passing the odd historic feature, feral goat yard and other infrastructure which served as a reminder that this is still a working station.

There’s never a dull moment on this trek and total concentration is essential, but there are also plenty of scenic vantage points where you can pull over for a break and take it all in.

 

Towards the top there’s a picnic area set among the native pines.  With the sheer walls of the Pound for a backdrop and the wind moaning eerily through the pine needles, there’s no better place to enjoy a chicken sandwich and a cup of tea.

As the track plunges back down to the plain there are sensational views to the west towards a distant Lake Torrens.

We may not have been hauling bullock carts through the Ranges as in days gone by, but this is still a great adventure which leaves you exhilarated and not just a little weary at day’s end.

As bush lovers and users, we know this to be fundamentally wrong. Most of our public lands are suffering from a total lack of practical management as displayed by the rapid growth in feral animals (cats and pigs are destroying Australia's delicate flora and fauna) and the influx of non-native weeds and vegetation.We're also very concerned with the 'privatisation' of public lands which consistently sees access barred to all but a few elite groups. As Australians, the bush, the beaches and the waterways belong to all of us. This is our birthright.THE FIGHT Originally the Green movement raised some very important issues that are important to all bush lovers however the last fifteen years have seen this movement become increasingly academic and elitist and out of touch with practical land management. WE BELIEVE- public land (national parks, state forests, stock routes and waterways) belong to all Australians.- that sustainable and responsible land management should achieve a balance between recreation and conservation.- that free camping areas throughout Australia should be encouraged and increased for the benefit of all travellers.- that more provisions and allowances should be made for people touring with caravans, motorhomes and camper trailers.- that Indigenous people's should be helped and encouraged to open their lands to travellers in order to benefit financially as well as promoting integration.- that the economic and health benefits of outdoor recreation are both viable and essential to a strong Australia.- that any legislation, government bodies and organisations hindering outdoor recreation needs to be identified and fought on every level.

THE FUTUREAustralia, with our huge and diverse public lands, should lead the world in offering outdoor recreation activities and free camping possibilities. As other countries shrink with the burdens of population, our country has the potential to grow an exceptionally viable outdoor recreation industry as well as maintaining our Australian way of life.

I have made this group just for the ladies, women of the 4WD Community...who love getting out there getting down and dirty, without the comparison of whos got the better truck, biggest lift, better tyres, lockers, winch bar, etc etc who gives a dam, we dont have to see who has the bigger you know what, I dont care if you drive a small 4wd or a big one, just as long as you girls are behind the wheel. We are here to have fun and show the guys we dont have to sit in the passenger seat ...4wdrivin aint just for the guys...Us Girls Love it too! Green TownsGreen Towns is UK based but Real Alliance is beginning it as an Initiative in Australia, especially the Outback. Encouraging local communities to improve the environment, and accrediting successful communities as Green Towns.  Green Towns are places where local people are making real efforts to reduce their negative impact on the environment and make a positive contribution through a variety of initiatives from encouraging insulation of houses to growing and selling local food, from planting wild-flowers to improving public transport.

Green Towns is facilitated by Real Alliance in Australia and delivered by local communities.

Local Environmental Action

Green Towns is about local action at every level, from households turning town their thermostats a little to businesses reducing waste in production and distribution systems. Importantly it is also about communities getting together to identify and tackle their most pressing environmental concerns together.

Some Green Towns actions are highly visible with an immediate effect, like mass litter picks. Other initiatives are less obvious, such as helping people take advantage of money-saving insulation offers, helping both their pocket and the global environment.
