If you’re planning to take a road trip across the United States, I highly recommend heading to the southwest region of the country and visiting Canyon de Chelly National Monument, located in the four corners region of Arizona. The park is located inside Navajo Nation, Native American reservation land independently operated by the Navajo tribe.

Canyon de Chelly National Monument features beautiful orange-red clay canyons which are an unbelievable sight at morning sunrise and at sunset; a the White House Trail, which tourists can hike on their own; and guided tours with certified Navajo tour guides. While you’re exploring Canyon de Chelly National Monument, I also recommend driving the scenic highways of Navajo Nation and checking out other attractions like the Shiprock land formation in Shiprock, New Mexico. The formation really does look like a ship stuck on top of a mountain!
