Sapana M BaravkarHead, Centre of Excellence, ACMA 24 th Dec 2019

To ACMA Members / Non-Members,

ACMA Center of Excellence (ACoE) - SAKSHAM want to focus not on the qualities of products but on development of the processes for making them i.e. designing. As we all know strategic design is a continual process, so it makes sense to keep design teams in place until well after product launching when the same team can then tackle a new project / existing products lifecycle. Design—it must be obvious by now—is a companywide activity. Top management involvement and commitment are essential. The effort has its costs, but the costs of not making the effort are

greater.

In line with above, we are delighted to announce the launching of Innovation & Design Lab, a State-of-the-Art infrastructure ACMA Centre for Excellence (SAKSHAM). We are hopeful that the industry will make use of this infrastructure and benefit from this new initiative.

It is a pleasure to announce first program focusing “PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT & DESIGN CONCEPTS” A Workshop which gives hands on Experience of 3D scanning & Most Advanced Design Workstations.

28th ~30th Jan 2020Three Days Certification Course“PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT & DESIGN CONCEPTS” (Workshop with hands on Experience of 3D scanning & Most Advanced Design Workstations)

Create a new part version 12. Replace a part and update a product13. Design parts in context 14. Create assembly features and

catalogues 15. Analyse the assemblies

Learning Outcomes – 1. The needs of Mechanical Designers. 2. To design a new part with

3DEXPERIENCE platform, insert the part in a product, position & constrain it.

3. Assignment of material properties and compute weight, & complete a simple drawing.

4. To create a new part version, replace the original part and update the product.

5. Advanced topics will be covered: manage complex product structures, create product features, catalogues and analyse assemblies.

6. Various capabilities of 3DEXPERIENCE platform allow you to comprehensively refine concept shapes, validate them and reconstruct them collaboratively for additive manufacturing.

1. CATIA Digitized Shape Prep & Essentials2. Create a cloud of points, process the

points of cloud, mesh the clouds. align & Improve the mesh characters

3. Perform Deviation Analysis & Functional Generative Design

4. Capture a set of functional specifications for conceptual exploration.

5. Generate Conceptual Shapes on target and Constraints.

6. Manage Concept Variants and perform trade-off dstudy

7. Design & Validate the detailed design for additive layer manufacturing.

Learning Outcomes – 1. To mesh the clouds and improve the

mesh characteristics, align the cloud of points & perform deviation analysis etc

2. CATIA Functional Generative Design app provides an integrated design environment where the.

- structural simulation (with SIMULIA), - topology optimization (using TOSCA

solver) and shape modelling is combined together in the same software.

3. To define functional specifications, analysis inputs, optimization target and constraints.
