Strategy
The following forms Egoli Africa’s strategy in carrying out projects in Uganda.
1. Support to projects is done mostly through purchasing materials, creating basics to carry out projects and through exchanging knowledge and skills. We strive for projects to be independent and self sustainable).
2. The organization supports small scale projects that are monitored by local partners such as Egoli Africa Uganda and Initiative Uganda and cooperates with project managers that are appointed to lead projects.
3. The objectives of projects are to improve the circumstances of people and to give them tools to become independent and self sustainable through generating income.
4. There should be respect for local customs, habits and rituals and an open attitude and mind towards people regardless their descent and religious beliefs.
5. Projects are evaluated every 6 months and/or annually and there should be attention for: Does the community feel involved, responsible and motivated for the project. Capacity building: does the project enhance knowledge and skills and can the project
continue to exist with knowledge and skills gained. Durability: can the project continue to exist without continuous financial support. The impact of the project on the community.
We strive to work with local Ugandan partners to pass on knowledge.
We strive to send volunteers and interns in order to teach them and the locals working in projects new skills, such that both parties can benefit. We want to avoid attracting foreigners from abroad as if our projects are a tourist attraction.
We strive for transparancy and direct connections with our local partners and project managers. The complete team of Egoli Africa is present at least two times a year to observe progress in projects.
