Lots of research on "authors" as well as what is a fairytale vs a folktale, fable, legend or just a Tall Tale. Fairy tales occur both in oral and in literary form; The history of the fairy tale is particularly difficult to trace because only the literary forms can survive. Still, according to researchers, such stories may date back thousands of years, some to the Bronze Age more than 6,500 years ago. Fairy tales, and works derived from fairy tales, are still written today. Works are collected by such people as Charles Perrault. the Brothers Grimm, and Hans Christian Anderson. MINI Auction: hinges and stamps with a $2 start and Don won at $10. Washington Franklins went to Larry for $4. Both got great bargains. Sept 26 – “Trains on Stamps” – a program from the American Topical Association. Great program with lots of information about the trains on the stamps, mostly foreign stamps, tho some US made trains on the stamps. 16 members signed in as attending. HAVE YOU Paid YOUR DUES? Some of our members have wonderful exhibits and their material would grace any stamp show in the country. Others of us- not so much - but going through the exercise of preparing material to exhibit helps expand our knowledge of stamps and of stamp collecting. It will sure increase your appreciation of the work others have put into their exhibits. Joliet club has space for 5 exhibits, Naperville also gets 5. First come, first served so let Rod know in writing if you have an exhibit as soon as possible
