Covisint, FSP & Web Quote

Covisint is a company that provides hosting services

A company registers for Covisint access

Then for one or more of the hosted services

Every company has at least one Corporate Security

Administrator

Each hosted service will have a number of their applications or

systems accessible via their portal

The CSA grants users in their Company access

Without your CSA granting access you cannot use the

application

To give you access to an application your CSA adds a token to

your Covisint Id

A token is your authorisation to use the application

For many tokens the CSA also adds the GSDB Site codes you

can access with that token

• Uses the currency of the Supplier

What is ASAP?

Advanced Sourcing Automated Process – ASAP is a Global

system used to manage the Ford Early Sourcing activities.

Early Sourcing is the process Ford follows when planning a

new model or product

The Early Sourcing process seeks to have a plan for every part

including:

Who will make it,

Where it will be manufactured,

Targets for what it will cost,

Targets for what it will weigh,

Forecasts of the volumes that will be needed,

Where will it be shipped from,

What plants will use it.

What is ASAP?

changes or modifications

New parts or major modifications to existing parts

New parts performing functions that have never been

on a Ford product before

FSP Web Quote Token Set Up

Need the Web Quote Sourcing token assigned to your Covisint Id

Need at least one of the Manufacturing site codes assigned to

your token

Check your token assignments:

select Administration Tools

then select Check My Profile

then select My Service Packages

look for the WebQuote Sourcing token


ASAP email Notifications

Accessing an ASAP document in WebQuote

You will receive an email notification from WebQuote

Notifications sent for:

• SOBA

• PCP

• 8-BIN RFQ

• CPA RFQ

• CPA

Clicking the link in the email will open the form in WebQuote

You will have to logon with your Covisint Id

You can also open WebQuote from within the Ford Supplier Portal

Using the Sourcing tab you can search for all the Early Sourcing (ASAP) documents sent to any manufacturing site codes assigned to your token

Processing ASAP Documents in Web Quote

You can open a document by clicking the link in the email

notification . The layout of all the email notifications is the same.

Look for emails from Ebquote

If you do not receive notifications always check that the

site code is assigned to your sourcing token in FSP



Or you can open Web Quote from Covisint / Ford Supplier Portal –

if the request is new you will see it on your open requests.

Processing a SOBA is simply a matter of reading

the agreement and if you accept it, entering your

Job Title and click on the ACCEPT button.

Use the REJECT button if you do not wish to accept

the SOBA. You will be required to add a comment

The second document you will receive will be a

Program Communication Package (PCP). This will

simply be a package of files, plus an agreement

letter explain the content of the package.

Processing ASAP Documents in Web QuoteYou will receive two Requests For Quotation

(RFQ). The first is termed the 8-Bin RFQ and it will

be sent some time before the second, the CPA

RFQ. The two RFQs are very similar, as are the

quotations you complete

The only real difference between the 8-BIN RFQ and the

CPA RFQ is that the Commercial Program Agreement

(Order) is issued to you at the same time as the RFQ.

You cannot accept the CPA or respond without accepting

it until you have submitted your CPA quotation.

Processing ASAP Documents in Web QuoteEach part of the RFQ needs quoting with the full breakdown of part pricing.

If there are ED&T costs included in the part price they are

entered here. If ED&T costs are to be paid as a Lump Sum, the

agreed amount is added below, in the Additional Information

Using the Copy From Above link makes

completing similar items much easier



Below the items there are several things that have to

be completed in the Additional Information section.

A Red * and a Red Label (or a yellow shaded field) indicates that the field must be completed.

You have to indicate the feasibility of making the parts.

If there is any reason why it is infeasible to make the parts,

the cause has to be resolved before subsequent sourcing

through to CPA can be done.

And confirm your quoting assumptions

You can enter multiple lines for tooling. For each

line you have to select the parts impacted

You can enter multiple lines for prototypes. For

each line you have to enter the part number

The only real difference between the 8-BIN RFQ and the

CPA RFQ is that the Commercial Program Agreement

(Order) is issued to you at the same time as the RFQ.

You cannot accept the CPA or respond without accepting

it until you have submitted your CPA quotation.

When you submit a quote you will receive a confirmation that the quote has

been submitted successfully. For a CPA Quote the message will also remind

you that you need to process the CPA Order associated with the quote. There

is a hyperlink in the message that allows you to open the CPA from the quote.


BEFORE you accept the CPA be sure that your CPA quote is

aligned with the targets and commercial principles detailed on the

documents that are attached to the request. If your quote DOES

NOT match the targets you should Respond with Quote Only.


If you accept the Commercial Program Agreement you

will be confirming that your Company will be bound by the

terms of the CPA and the by the targets detailed in any

documents attached to it, the SOBA or the PCP.

It is highly recommended that you

view the Print Agreement and

study it carefully BEFORE you

accept or respond to the CPA

Production Quotes – Tool Pending Capacities

Whenever you have quoted a Purchased Part Capacity (PPC)

and have indicated that the tooling is required to support this

capacity, the entry type will be Tool Pending
