• WIKI: What I Know Is ... the largest WIKI--Wikipedia

• Collaborative knowledge bank . . everyone can make deposits

• users of the WIKI can create, edit and contribute

• these contributions can be texts, photos, videos and more

Uses of WIKIs

• A WIKI can be used for:

• Course syllabus/Course outline/Course resource center

• A place to define terminology

• A place to complete collaborative projects

• Followup to an in class discussion

Create a WIKI

• Go to pbworks.com

• Click for EDUCATION and SIGN UP NOW

• Choose BASIC plan (it’s free!)

• Choose your address

• use class name and section#

• Input account information

• Set Securities

• After your WIKI is set up, you can get started.

• Choose EDIT from your WIKI page to add content to your main page.

• Be sure to click SAVE

• Adding pages . . .

• It is best to add new pages for new content . . the page heading will appear on your main page

• You can also add media . . . a youtube video, a teachertube video or a powerpoint.

• You need to copy the embedded and paste it in the INSERT PLUG IN.

• When you are ready, SHARE THE WORKSPACE

• A BLOG is a weblog

A place for students to respond to a prompt

Prompts can be reflective, comprehensive

Students can respond to one another, the teacher

• input your information; give your site a URL name
