Moody Gardens Education Department’s Scout Workshop Requirement Policy Here at Moody Gardens, we offer a unique environment for your scout to participate in our workshop program. We may not be able to help your scout complete their badge in full due to specific requirements. In this case, they will receive a partial completion. Our counselors will sign off on the requirements they have completed during their workshop. Please remind your scout to be actively engaged in the workshop; credit will not be given for just attendance. Your scout should pro-actively complete pre-requisites & outside requirements before attending a workshop. Scouts may schedule for review of outside requirement completion following each workshop. They will be scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis at the time of registration check in. During their scheduled time, your scout will meet with a counselor to provide their supporting documentation and answer any follow-up questions. This documentation may include but is not limited to photos, data logs, prepared programs, project documents and other supporting evidence that shows all requirement components have been met. If we are unable to verify completion of your scout’s outstanding requirements due to insufficient evidence/supporting documentation, or your scout does not complete pre-requisites, a partial will be the result. Your scout will be directed to meet with their unit leader for review of outstanding work to obtain a complete sign-off or referral to their unit’s internal designated merit badge counselor. Reference BSA Guide to Advancement: (“The Merit Badge Program” 7.0.3.3 Partial Completions).
