Green Thumb Ministry is Back! Tuesdays at 8am
Help us maintain the outside grounds of the church, i.e. by gardening, weeding etc. Social
distancing will be easy since we’ll be outdoors. Bring your own basic garden tools or Clorox spray, paper towels, or wipes if you have no tools. We’ll
meet in the parking lot adjacent to the playground.
Questions? Email Michele Baron at
Today’s Gospel takes us back to the Last Supper, the night before Jesus dies. It’s an incredibly intimate moment with his closest friends when Jesus delivers his final thoughts to them, “This is my commandment: Love one another as I love you. No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” Imagine that your final instructions just before heading to the violent end of crucifixion are to be loving, open, and compassionate. I find that amazing!
Actually, you and I might have framed our final instructions a little differently on the eve of such a horrific death. We might have said, “I command you to burn the bridges and houses, get some swords, and make them pay!” To command love on the eve of such brutality is almost unthinkable.
Jesus not only expects, indeed he commands, that we choose love.
Fr. Bob

Parish Garden Leaders Wanted!
The garden ministry does the work of Christ by providing fresh food for the less fortunate, building community, educating about healthy eating, and developing an appreciation for the sacredness of the earth. We are looking for someone to help carry out this mission by leading a group of gardeners who are responsible for the sowing, nurturing, and harvesting items planted in one or two beds.
This leader should be experienced (or willing to learn), passionate, enjoy working as a team, able to communicate, have some computer skills, enjoy organizing, and be committed to the ministry’s mission. If you want to be a leader in this dynamic ministry, please contact Michele Baron at ext. 847 or [email protected]

Dear Fr. Bob, Once again your generous congregation has gone above and beyond in support of CFA’s mission. Many thanks to all for your March donation of 250 Snack Packs, kindly delivered to our Mahwah site by Presentation. As you know, Snack Packs are distributed among needy children as part of a program aimed at keeping them properly nourished on weekends. Please accept our gratitude on behalf of these youngsters and their parents. With the steadfast support of caring, community-minded neighbors - like those at Presentation - we continue our struggle to fight against hunger and homelessness. Warm regards, /s/ Linda Somwaru Site Manager
Rite of Christian Initiation
There are many reasons why you may want to become involved in the RCIA. Do any of these fit you?
I have never been baptized. I am married to a Catholic and attend Mass, but I just don’t know what the next step may be. I have been baptized in another Christian denomination and wish to become Catholic. I have been baptized Catholic, but have not received any other sacraments.
Do you know someone who might be interested in being in full communion with the Catholic Church? Ask, encourage and invite them to this program. The journey begins with one small step! Our Inquiry Gatherings begin on Sunday mornings in September. Contact Diane Carr at x. 831 for more info.
THANK YOU to all who donated to the Catholic Relief Services Rice Bowl Lenten outreach. We collected $1,026.00, our best year yet!
