We were the first to passUL977 FUSED POWER

CIRCUIT DEVICES.

Most of our switches are rateda FULL 600 volts.

We were the first to mount the switchoperator on the switch base panel.

Prior to our entering the business theswitchboard builder had to mount the switch, then mount the operator, then install andadjust the connecting linkage.

Whenever possible,we make ourswitches so they willstand up on a bench.

This makes it possibleto operate the switchbefore it is mountedin a switchboard cell.

We use formed copper pole parts.

Formed parts are stronger, simpler, and run cooler.

In some cases, we have only 1/3the number of parts used by our

major competitors.

Our arc chute does not restrict the size ofbus bar that may be used.

Bus bar can be wider thanthe switch terminals.

We use threaded inserts for the fuse bolts.

This makes installing the fuses easier.

We put blade stops on the crossbarrather than on the blades.

For easy inspection or maintenance, the blades may be “dropped down”.

To drop the blades:

1. Rotate the contact lever as shown (arrow 1).

2. As it rotates, the blades will rotate down to allow improved access (arrow 2).

Then when you return the blades to theoriginal position, the linkage assemblywill snap back into toggle.

We were the first to stop using ebony asbestosin favor of glass polyester base panels.

We do not use any asbestos.

Our most popular switchesare mounted on molded

base panels.

800 thorugh 3000 ampere switcheshave the same basic dimensions.

They mount in the same space, using the same sheet metal.

We provide a transparent face barrierso that you can readily see the switch bladeposition without removing the barriers.

We provide a screw terminal at each lineterminal, hinge, and load terminal to make

it easy to wire in control power transformers, blown fuse detectors, instrumentation…

We were the first to havea shunt trip operator on a

bolted pressure contact switch.

Switch operation is not totallydependent on springs.

ALL SWITCHES manufactured by BOLTSWITCH(Manual or Shunt Trip) can be opened with thehandle, even if the opening spring is removed.

Our manual and Shunt Trip switchesare designed so that:

-handle is up, switch is on,-handle is down, switch is off.

We provide rails on the back of the switchbase panel to allow the circulation of air, prevent the accumulation of moisture, andto guarantee isolation of live parts fromgrounded switchboard members.

We don’t have to seal the bolt holes onthe back of the panel, but we do.

Why?

Because we don’t want someone to besurprised when a finger or a fish tape hitsa live bolt head.

Our switches with Integral Ground Faulthave the sensor mounted in the switchblade area.

Bussing does not change.

Sheet metal does not change.

No additional space is required.

Our switches with Integral Ground Fault

have the relay mounted on a three-way

adjustable slide bracket. The relay can

stay behind the access door, or extend

through an opening in the enclosure front.

The jumpers can be removed to add accessories.

No internal wiring changes.

Our switches with Integral Ground Fault have a five-point terminal block with two jumpers.

Each switch has a serial number.

Records are kept by serial number showing thepurchaser, shop order number, accessories andmodifications.

We have a UL Listedmotor operated

bolted pressure contact switch

We established a policy wherewe will not build two or moreswitches into one enclosure.

We do not build switchboards.

We do not compete withour customers.

We have the only “Geneva” operator fordouble throw applications.

It is UL Listed and we have interconnectingbus that is UL Listed for withstanding200,000 RMS symmetrical amperes.

We were the first to pass UL977FUSED POWER

CIRCUIT DEVICESthat accept Class T fuses

Series VT switches are rated800 & 1200 A, 240 & 600 VAC.

Very compact design.

We developed 800 - 2000 ampFused Power Circuit Devices

that are extremely narrow.

Series WL switchesmeasure 19.5” wide, and will fit in a20” wide section.

We developeda lockout deviceto meet strictE.U.S.E.R.C.requirements.

Our DB lockout devices mount the same as a key interlock, and can be installed on other devices as well as our own.

Models are available with key interlock provisions.

We developed specialpadlocking provisions for our

switches to meet strictE.U.S.E.R.C. requirements.

We have selected switch drawings on AutoCAD.

We can furnish either 3.5” diskette or CD-ROM.

AutoCAD 12, 14 & DXF formats available.
